Our residents had a fantastic time celebrating the Commonwealth Games with some friendly sporting fun🏅🏅

There was plenty of smiles, laughter, and great sportsmanship as everyone enjoyed a few Commonwealth Game sports such as Tennis and shot put. It was great to see everyone cheering each other on. Medals were presented to our winners. Congratulations to everyone for giving it their best🥇🥈🥉

A wonderful day out on our bus trip to Shorncliffe. Residents enjoyed a delicious lunch of fresh fish and chips by the waterfront. The residents enjoyed watching the boats on the bay. The outing brought back so many memories of having fish and chips by the sea when they were younger.

There is something truly special about the power of music 🎶.

Our music therapy session brought back beautiful memories for one of our residents who was a champion Ballroom dancer. As a familiar tune played our lovely resident began to dance with her walker. Music has a way of connecting us to our memories.

NAIDOC WEEK 🪃🪃

Our residents celebrated culture, creativity and connection while learning about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Residents enjoyed designing and decorating their own boomerangs and watercolour art work with each one reflecting their own unique personal creativity.

Today we say farewell to two valued members of our team.

A heartfelt thank you to Helen, our wonderful RN who is moving away. Your compassion, professionalism and dedication to our residents have made a lasting difference and you will be greatly missed.

We also have to thank Geoff our amazing maintenance officer, as he retires and enjoys life. Thanks for everything you have done to keep our home safe and running smoothly, Geoff will be immensely missed.

We wish you both every happiness and success in the future.

Blindfold taste test challenge 🍋🧀🍯

Our residents put their taste buds to the test with a blindfold taste testing challenge. From sweet treats to tangy surprises there was plenty of laughs, funny guesses and hilarious reactions.

Activities like this stimulate the senses, are great for reminiscing and create plenty of laughter.

Residents enjoyed a delicious meal, great entertainment and wonderful company at the Redcliffe RSL today. The highlight of the day was when some of the residents joined the entertainer on the dance floor, it was wonderful to see all their smiles and laughter. 💃💃

A big thank you to our wonderful resident Thelma for starting up our very own card making group. Residents enjoyed coming together to create beautiful handmade cards. Card making encourages residents to be creative, use fine motor skills and be socially engaged.

Thelma’s guidance and enthusiasm helped make the afternoon a big success. The cards were beautiful.
