Can you spot the side with poorer eccentric control? đź‘€

This patient presented with insertional Achilles tendinopathy that had persisted for over a month despite resting.

During a single-leg calf raise, the difference became much clearer. One side struggled to control the lowering phase, highlighting a deficit in the calf–Achilles complex’s ability to tolerate and control load.

This is why simply resting an Achilles tendon isn’t always the answer. The goal of rehab is to progressively rebuild strength, control and load tolerance so the tendon can handle the demands placed on it again.
