🐄💛 SUPPORT THE MAD COWS! 💛🐄

This one is very close to my heart.

A very good friend of mine — someone who is practically family — and her best mate Emma are taking on Camp Quality’s Escapade 2026 as The Mad Cows. Seven days, one cow-covered car, a whole lot of kilometres and, most importantly, one incredible cause. 🐄🚙

For Emma, this is especially personal. Her beautiful niece Kennedy sadly lost her battle with aggressive bone cancer at just 13 years of age. During Kennedy’s journey, Camp Quality was there supporting her and her family through an unimaginably difficult time.

Now Emma and her best mate are doing something wonderful in Kennedy’s memory — raising money so Camp Quality can continue being there for other children with cancer and their families. 💛

Kids with cancer go through more than any child should ever have to face. Yet somehow, so many face it with extraordinary courage, elegance and grace. Anything we can do to bring some laughter, hope, support and a little bit of childhood back into their lives is worth getting behind.

The Mad Cows have committed to raising at least $5,000, and I would absolutely love to see them smash that goal.

If you can spare a few dollars, please consider supporting them. Every donation matters, no matter how small. And if donating isn’t possible, please share this post — getting their story out there is just as valuable. ❤️

For Kennedy, for the kids, and for every family facing childhood cancer. 🎗️💛

Let’s help get these Mad Cows MOO-VING! 🐄🐄🚙💨

🌿 Happy Thursday!

As we move towards the end of the week, it's common to notice our minds becoming busier. We start thinking about everything we've done, everything that's still to come, and everything in between.

Today, I'd like to share a simple mindfulness technique called Rain on a Leaf.

This practice encourages you to imagine gentle raindrops falling onto a single leaf. As you picture each drop landing, notice its rhythm, sound and movement. If your mind begins to wander, simply acknowledge it and gently return your attention to the image of the rain falling on the leaf.

The goal isn't to stop your thoughts—it's to give your mind a calm place to return to.

This technique can be helpful if you're: 🌿 Feeling mentally overloaded. 🌿 Finding it difficult to switch off. 🌿 Preparing for sleep. 🌿 Looking for a mindful break during your day.

Even just two or three minutes of mindful practice can help settle your nervous system and create a sense of calm.

Take a slow breath. Notice this moment. And remember—you don't have to carry the whole week at once.

Wishing you a peaceful Thursday. 💙

🦋 Have you tried the Butterfly Hug?

Sometimes our nervous system just needs a gentle reminder that we are safe.

The Butterfly Hug is a simple self-soothing technique that uses gentle, alternating taps on your upper arms while focusing on slow, steady breathing. Originally developed within trauma therapy, it's now widely used as a grounding strategy to help regulate emotions and reconnect with the present moment.

You might find it helpful when: 💙 You're feeling overwhelmed. 💙 Your mind won't slow down. 💙 Stress or anxiety is building. 💙 You simply need a moment to pause and reset.

Remember, you don't have to wait until you're feeling overwhelmed to use grounding strategies. The more we practise these techniques during calmer moments, the easier they become to access when we really need them.

Take a minute today to pause, breathe and be kind to yourself. Small moments of self-care can have a lasting impact.

Wishing you a peaceful day. 🌿

🐾🦇 Something unusual is happening with the flying fox colony next to Main Street Counselling today.

They're not usually this close to the practice, or this active during the middle of the day. The amount of squawking and circling suggests something may have spooked the colony, although we don't know what.

Flying foxes are incredibly important for our environment, playing a vital role in pollinating native plants and spreading seeds across our forests. They're also very sensitive to disturbance.

We thought we'd share this 56-second glimpse of what we're seeing. Hopefully, whatever caused the disturbance has passed and the colony settles again soon.

We'll keep doing our part too... including cleaning up the incredible amount of flying fox s**t (poo) they leave behind! 😅 It's a small price to pay for having a practice so close to nature and sharing the space with one of Australia's most important native pollinators.

If you're in the area, please give them plenty of space and enjoy these remarkable animals from a respectful distance.

Have you ever seen a flying fox colony behave like this during the day? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

🌿 Happy Middle of the Weekend!

The middle of the weekend is the perfect time to pause, reset and give your nervous system a little care before the week ahead.

One of my favourite strategies is bilateral sound. Listening through headphones allows alternating sounds to move between your left and right ears, helping to gently calm your nervous system, improve focus and bring you back into the present moment.

🎧 Important: Bilateral sound must be listened to with headphones or earbuds. Without them, the left-right alternating stimulation isn't heard correctly, so you won't receive the full therapeutic benefit.

🎧 Here is a link to a free bilateral sound session on YouTube:

So today... 💙 Find a quiet space. 🎧 Put on your headphones. 🌿 Take a slow breath in... and out. ✨ Allow yourself to simply be present.

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is pause.

Wishing you a calm, restorative remainder of the weekend and a wonderful second week of the school holidays.

🏉 Happy Wednesday! It's State of Origin Decider Day! 💙❤️
Whether you're cheering for Queensland or New South Wales tonight, here's a little reminder to take into the rest of your week...
The scoreboard doesn't define us, but how we respond to life's wins and losses certainly can.

✨ Stay present. ✨ Take a slow, deep breath when life feels overwhelming. ✨ Be kind to yourself. ✨ Remember that one positive moment can change the direction of your entire week.

Hopefully tonight's decider gives us all a great game, plenty of laughs, and sets us up for a strong finish to the week.
Who are you backing tonight? 🏉

🌿 Happy Weekend!

We're halfway through the school holidays, and whether your days have been filled with adventures, family time, work, or simply trying to keep everyone entertained, this is your reminder to slow down and be present.

It's easy to spend our time thinking about what still needs to be done or worrying about next week. Yet some of the most meaningful moments happen when we're fully engaged in the one we're already in.

This weekend, try the 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique. It's a simple, evidence-based mindfulness strategy that gently brings your attention back to the present by focusing on your five senses. It can be particularly helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious or mentally busy.

Take a deep breath. Put your phone down for a few moments. Watch your children laugh. Listen to the birds. Feel the warmth of the winter sun. Notice the little things.

The school holidays won't last forever, but the memories you create just might.

Wishing you a restful weekend filled with connection, laughter and moments that remind you to simply be here now. 💙

Happy Hump Day! 🌿

You've made it halfway through the week.

If things have been busy, stressful or simply overwhelming, this is your gentle reminder that you don't have to keep pushing without taking a moment for yourself.

One of the quickest and most effective strategies to help regulate your nervous system is Box Breathing. Used by psychologists, first responders, elite athletes and military personnel, it's a simple technique that can help reduce stress, improve focus and bring your body back to a place of calm.

Take just one minute today: 🫁 Breathe in for 4 seconds. ⏸️ Hold for 4 seconds. 🫁 Breathe out for 4 seconds. ⏸️ Hold for 4 seconds. 🔁 Repeat for 4 cycles.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do isn't to work harder—it's to pause, breathe and reset.

Be kind to yourself today. You're doing better than you think. 💙

Happy Monday! 🌿

A new week doesn't have to begin with pressure—it can begin with intention.

One of the simplest evidence-based strategies in positive psychology is the 'Three Good Things' practice. At the end of each day, take just a couple of minutes to write down three things that went well, no matter how small, and why they happened.

This gentle practice helps train your brain to notice what's working, rather than only what feels difficult. Over time, it can increase positive emotions, improve resilience and create a more balanced perspective, even during challenging weeks.

Remember, progress isn't about having a perfect week. It's about taking one small step, one day at a time.

Wishing you a week filled with moments of calm, growth and kindness—especially towards yourself. 💙

As the weekend begins to wind down, take a moment to pause and check in with yourself.

Whatever the week ahead has in store, remember that you don't have to face it running on empty. Rest isn't something you earn once everything is done—it's something your mind and body need to help you navigate life's challenges.

Spend the remainder of your weekend doing something that helps you recharge. It might be time in nature, sharing a laugh with someone you care about, reading a book, enjoying a quiet coffee, or simply allowing yourself to slow down without guilt.

As researcher and social work professor Dr Brené Brown reminds us: "You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first."

Wishing you a restful remainder of the weekend and a week ahead filled with strength, kindness and moments of joy.
