A lot can happen in a month.
But this story didn’t start a month ago.
It started 18 months ago when the scales began creeping up despite my best efforts.
The weight kept increasing.
The bloating got worse.
The hot flushes ramped up.
Sleep became harder.
My confidence took a hit.
Like many women, I was made to feel as though it was simply a matter of eating less and trying harder.
At one point I was even told to “stop putting food in your mouth” or that I could just “have an injection.”
I left feeling defeated.
A month ago I nearly didn’t take the first photo.
Today, I’m glad I did.
This isn’t a stranger in these photos.
This is me.
This is my story.
This is real.
✨ 2.6kg down
✨ 3 inches off my hips
✨ 2.5 inches off my belly
✨ 1 inch off my waist
✨ 1 inch off my legs
But the biggest changes aren’t all on the scales.
💛 Sleeping under a doona for the first time in years
💛 Less bloating
💛 More balanced energy
💛 Fewer hot flushes
💛 Less food noise
💛 Better sleep
💛 Gentle gym sessions
💛 Still eating chocolate
After 18 months of watching the scales go up, seeing them finally move in the other direction feels like hope.
Not perfection.
Hope.
