Moon Between the Roses

She sat among the golden roses
while the moon rested softly
behind her spirit.

Beside her stood the deer
quiet as prayer,
gentle as falling leaves.

In the old stories,
the deer carries peace
through wounded hearts.
It walks lightly upon the earth
so no living thing forgets
that kindness is sacred.

The girl closed her eyes
and listened to the night breathe.

She could hear her ancestors
inside the wind,
their songs moving through the flowers
like river water beneath stone.

“Do not hurry your spirit,”
the moon whispered.

“Even the earth rests
before she blooms again.”

The deer leaned close beside her,
its dark eyes full of ancient knowing.

And beneath the pale moonlight,
surrounded by wild roses and silence,
she remembered:

softness is not weakness.

It is the medicine
that keeps the soul alive.
