In a lot of industries, conferences and “warm fuzzies” don’t usually go together, but the 2026 Positive Ageing Summit was definitely an exception. It was one of those events that really gets you thinking, both professionally and personally.
One of the biggest takeaways was that positive ageing is about so much more than physical health, and it starts long before we’re considered “old”.
There was a big focus on human connection, social prescribing, and understanding what gives someone purpose, rather than just responding once things reach crisis point. It was a good reminder that meaningful support isn’t always about the clinical side of things.
We walked away with a lot to reflect on, but mostly just feeling very lucky to work in an industry where we get the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the parts of people’s lives that really matter.
