Pelvic pain is common, but that doesn't mean it should simply be put up with.

It can also be complex. Pain felt around the pelvis may involve a number of different factors, which is why taking the time to understand the history, symptoms, movement and function is important.

Where there is a musculoskeletal component, osteopathic care may form one part of managing pelvic pain — and sometimes the most appropriate step is working alongside, or referring to, other health professionals.

Women's Health Week is a good opportunity to keep conversations about pelvic health going.

It's Women's Health Week — a good reminder to make a little time for your own health too.

Being able to move comfortably and stay active matters at every stage of life. Sometimes pain, injury or changes in our body can make that more difficult than we'd like.

Osteopathic care can look at how your body is moving, areas that may be contributing to discomfort, and ways to support movement and activity that suit you.

A good week to check in with how you're feeling — and how you're moving.

Pain isn't always caused by just one thing.

Movement, daily habits, previous injuries, work, sport and general health can all play a role.

Our aim is to identify the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms so your management plan reflects your individual needs.

September is Pain Awareness Month.

Pain is a very individual experience. Two people can have pain in a similar area, yet the things contributing to it — and what they need to help manage it — can be quite different.

Osteopathic care takes this into account, looking at the person as well as the painful area and working together on an individual approach to care.

Throughout September, I'll be sharing some information about pain, what can influence it, and some of the ways we can support people living with it.

Spring is officially here – longer days are coming, warmer weather is promised and, for many of us, a little more time spent outside.

It might mean getting back into the garden, walking more, returning to exercise or simply being a bit more active after winter.

So, how is your body feeling?

If you've noticed an ache, some stiffness or a niggle that's making the things you enjoy a little less comfortable, you don't necessarily have to wait until it stops you altogether.

Sometimes a new season is a good reminder to check in with yourself and see how you're going.

September really does have a lot happening! 🌼

Spring is arriving, sporting seasons are changing over, school holidays are on the horizon and our Year 12 students are getting closer to exams.

It’s also Pain Awareness Month, with Women’s Health Week from 7–11 September.

There are plenty of different health, movement and wellbeing conversations wrapped up in all of that — and I’m looking forward to sharing a little more about some of them throughout the month.

Bring on September and the start of spring! ☀️

As the days get warmer, it’s often a time when we naturally start doing a little more — walking, gardening, exercising - summer sports are even on their way.

If you’re increasing your activity, give your body a little time to come along for the ride. You don’t need to do everything at once. Build gradually, allow time for recovery, and pay attention to how your body is responding.

Consistency usually matters more than one big session.

And if aches or pains are making it difficult to get moving comfortably, an osteopathic assessment may help you better understand what’s going on and how to approach your activity.

"Why do Osteopaths ask so many questions?"

It's something we hear quite often.

The conversation at the beginning of your appointment isn't just about where something hurts. We also want to understand how your symptoms began, what makes them better or worse, your general health, your work, hobbies and what you're hoping to achieve.

These pieces help us build a clearer understanding of your situation and guide your Osteopathic assessment.

Every person is different, so every consultation begins by listening.
