Fibre One bars — not always the healthy snack they seem!

They’re high in sugar and saturated fat while being small in volume and low in protein, so they’re unlikely to keep you full between meals.

The main fibre source is chicory root extract (inulin), a prebiotic fibre that adds bulk and sweetness without many calories. While it can support gut bacteria, it can also cause gas, bloating, and digestive discomfort in some people, especially in large amounts or if you’re sensitive to fibre additives.

"I'm cutting carbs to lose weight."

"I try not to eat too many carbs."

"I train fasted because it's better for fat loss."

Sound familiar?

Carbohydrates have been demonised for years, but the truth is they are your body's and brain's preferred source of energy. They help support exercise performance, recovery, mood, concentration and overall health.

Complex carbohydrates are also an excellent source of fibre, along with important vitamins and minerals that support long-term health.

And despite what social media might tell you…

🍞 Bread doesn't make you gain weight.
🍝 Pasta isn't the reason you can't lose weight.
🍚 Rice isn't "bad".

Low carbohydrate intake can leave you feeling:

😴 Fatigued
😠 Irritable
😔 Low in mood
😴 Sleeping poorly
🍫 Craving sugary foods
🧠 Struggling to concentrate
🏋️ Performing poorly in the gym

Carbs themselves don't inherently cause weight gain. Weight gain occurs when we consistently consume more energy than our body needs overall.

Plus, when you cut carbs, your body loses stored glycogen and water, which is why the scales often drop quickly. That initial weight loss is not necessarily body fat.

You don't need to fear carbs to be healthy.

You don't need to earn your carbs.

And you certainly don't need to cut out entire food groups to achieve your goals.

Food is fuel, and carbs deserve a place on your plate.

Chia seeds - we love them, they are such a great buy!

They are rich in Omega-3 fats which are essential fats that support heart health, brain function, and help reduce inflammation in the body 🧠❤️

They’re also a great source of fibre, which supports gut health, regular bowel movements, and helps keep you fuller for longer.

Easy to add to smoothies, chia puddings or porridge for an easy nutrient boost 🥣

Think hitting your fibre target is hard?

Most adults need around 25–30g per day, and it's often much easier than people think to hit this.

Fibre supports gut health, digestion, blood sugar control, heart health, and helps keep you feeling fuller for longer.

A few simple tips:
- Increase fibre gradually to minimise bloating and gas
- Drink plenty of water- fibre needs fluid to do its job
- Focus on what you can ADD to your plate, not take away
- Snack on wholefoods like fruit, nuts, seeds, and legumes

Swipe through to see how easy it can be to reach 30g of fibre in a day 👉

Yoghurt shortage causing us a bit of stress 😅

Anywayyy…

One simple way to stay on top of it is making a grocery list at home before you head to the supermarket. It helps you only buy what you actually need, avoid duplicates, and save money in the process. It also keeps your shopping more intentional rather than grabbing things “just in case” (and then realising you already had five at home 🙃).

Buy 💰️ or bye 👋 ?

Coconut yoghurt may be trend but it’s low in protein, high in saturated fats, and doesn't have any added calcium to support your bones.

If you’re after a dairy-free yoghurt option, choose soy yoghurt with added calcium instead 🥣
