Falls can happen anywhere, and having the right equipment available can make all the difference.

At ATSA Sydney, James Pridham demonstrated the new SuperHandy GoRise LT Bath & Floor Lift, one of the latest additions to the Avant Innovations range.

Designed to safely assist a person from the floor after a fall, the GoRise LT is also fully waterproof, allowing it to double as a bath lift. With a safe working load of 200kg, it’s a versatile solution that can support users in multiple environments while helping reduce manual handling risks for carers and support staff.

We’re excited to have recently added the SuperHandy range of floor-to-sitting and floor-to-standing transfer aids to our portfolio, giving therapists, care providers and end users even more options to support safe independence.

Dimitri is also the captain of the Australian Poweroos, Australia’s national Powerchair Football team 🇦🇺

Working closely with occupational therapists allows us to better understand real client needs, explore practical solutions, and share knowledge around what works and why.
Training days like this are a great example of that in action.

The LegiLiner Box Roller is a simple way to turn any blank page into a structured learning activity ⬜

The 16mm Worm Line LegiLiner is designed to provide additional visual support for letter placement ✏️

Particularly for descending letters such as g, j, p and y, the extra baseline (the “worm line”) gives students a clearer reference point for where the lower portion of letters should sit.

This can help improve consistency, spatial awareness, and overall handwriting structure.

A simple feature that can make a big difference for learners who benefit from stronger visual cues.

Collaboration in action 🤝

We recently had the pleasure of hosting the team from Verve OT at Avant Innovations for a hands-on training day. During the session, therapists had the opportunity to trial our FUNctionalHand by writing their names — a simple yet powerful way to experience how assistive technology can support functional independence.

Designed to assist individuals with limited grip strength or dexterity, the FUNctionalHand enables users to hold and control everyday items such as pens, pencils, and utensils with greater ease. It’s always valuable to see therapists engaging directly with the tools that can make a meaningful difference in their clients’ lives.

You might also spot the Tiralo beach wheelchair in the background… which is officially making its return to Australia 🇦🇺🏖️ More to come on that soon.

Assistive technology isn’t something you can fully understand from a catalogue alone.

That’s why hands-on training is so important ✏️

By giving therapists the opportunity to trial equipment, practise manual handling techniques, and work through real-world scenarios, it becomes much easier to build confidence and make informed decisions for clients.

It’s a simple concept, but one that makes a real difference in practice.
