📍 Avant Innovations is heading to the Top End!

From 1–4 September, the team will be bringing a selection of hands-on assistive technology to Darwin, and we’d love to connect with therapists, support providers and the wider community while we’re there.

Visits to the Top End don’t happen often, so we’re making the most of every opportunity to showcase practical solutions that can make a real difference.

Here’s where you can find us:

📅 Tuesday 1 September
Private practice visits and product demonstrations.

📅 Wednesday 2 September
Join us for our Therapy Technology Open House at Harry’s Place, where you’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on with a wide range of assistive technology, ask questions and explore solutions in a relaxed environment.

📅 Thursday 3 – Friday 4 September
We’ll be exhibiting at the AASE National Conference, so be sure to stop by and say hello.

We’ll be bringing a range of solutions across:

Join us for a FREE clinical workshop exploring one of the most common questions therapists face: Still standing… but what next?

Hosted by Erika Tuktens (Physio) and Natalie Jones (OT), this practical session will explore the assessment, selection and prescription of devices that assist with weight-bearing transfers, helping clinicians support safer, more effective participation in everyday activities.

This workshop will provide practical clinical insights, opportunities to discuss real-world scenarios, and hands-on experience with a range of assistive technology.

After a fantastic response to our last session, Avant Innovations is excited to welcome Natasha Nutt from Movementum back to our Silverwater showroom for another Manual Handling Training Day on Wednesday, 6 August.

As equipment advances and client needs become increasingly complex, therapists need more than theory. Staying current means getting hands-on with the latest equipment, refining your clinical reasoning, and building confidence in prescribing the right solutions.

Designed specifically for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists working in disability and aged care, this practical workshop focuses on:

✔️ Equipment prescription and clinical decision-making
✔️ Determining appropriate ratios of care
✔️ Real-world case discussions and hands-on experience with current equipment

Falls can happen anywhere, and having the right equipment available can make all the difference.

At ATSA Sydney, James Pridham demonstrated the new SuperHandy GoRise LT Bath & Floor Lift, one of the latest additions to the Avant Innovations range.

Designed to safely assist a person from the floor after a fall, the GoRise LT is also fully waterproof, allowing it to double as a bath lift. With a safe working load of 200kg, it’s a versatile solution that can support users in multiple environments while helping reduce manual handling risks for carers and support staff.

We’re excited to have recently added the SuperHandy range of floor-to-sitting and floor-to-standing transfer aids to our portfolio, giving therapists, care providers and end users even more options to support safe independence.

Dimitri is also the captain of the Australian Poweroos, Australia’s national Powerchair Football team 🇦🇺
