🌟 What's On This Week at Singleton! 🌟
Another exciting week of fun, connection, and adventure is ahead for residents!
🚲 'Cycling Without Age' will be taking residents on scenic rides along the beautiful Rockingham Foreshore, enjoying the fresh sea breeze and wonderful views.
🎣 Fishing Trip Thursday! Residents will head out for a relaxing day by the water, enjoying great company, some fresh air, and hopefully a few fish along the way!
👻🎃 Our Halloween Cooking Group will get everyone into the spooky spirit as residents bake delicious ghost shortbread and decorate them with all things Halloween.
🎂☕ We'll finish the week by celebrating all residents with an October birthday at a special Afternoon Tea in the Café, proudly hosted by the Wellbeing team. Join us for cake, conversation, and plenty of birthday cheer!
🎬 Don't forget! Our Cinema is showing a movie every afternoon from 3:30pm. Residents can enjoy a mix of resident-requested films alongside classic favourites that may bring back special memories. It's the perfect way to relax & reminisce. 🍿❤️

🌟 Looking Ahead Together! 🌟

We recently welcomed our COO, GM Strategy and GM Operations to Singleton for our Strategy Roadshow, sharing the vision and strategy that will guide us over the next three years.

The day kicked off with a presentation for residents, relatives and staff, giving everyone the opportunity to hear about the journey ahead and be part of the conversation.

☕ We then enjoyed a relaxed coffee and cake hour, proudly served by our wonderful Wellbeing team, creating a great opportunity to connect, chat and share ideas.

We finished the day with a leadership “Pow Wow” session, bringing our leadership team together to discuss opportunities, share perspectives and look at how we can continue moving forward together.

A fantastic day of connection, collaboration and looking to the future. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed! 💙

📱 Monday – Tech Help
Need a little help with your phone, tablet or iPad? Bring your device along to the Café on Monday morning and our Wellbeing Team will be there to help. Whether it’s learning something new or figuring out those tricky settings, come and see us! 😊

💡 Tuesday – Activity Planning Brainstorm
Have an activity you’d love to see on our calendar? We want to hear from you! Residents are invited to bring along their ideas and suggestions and help shape our future activity program.

✨ Wednesday – Singleton Roadshow
We have a special day planned as our Chief Operating Officer and other Head Office team members visit Singleton to present the organisation’s strategy for the next three years.
Following the presentation, residents and staff are invited to enjoy coffee and cake together, with a chance to mingle, chat and connect. ☕🍰

And of course, the week wouldn’t be complete without some of our usual favourites, including Bingo, scenic bus trips, exercise with the Physio, music, movies and more! 🚌🎶🎬

There’s something for everyone. We look forward to another great week! 💙

🍽️ This Week at Singleton Community Aged Care! 🍽️

We're looking forward to a wonderful week of fun, friendship, and meaningful moments! One of the highlights will be our lunch outing to the local pub, where residents can enjoy a delicious meal, great company, and a chance to get out and about in the community.
Alongside our special outing, we'll also be enjoying all of our regular favourite activities!

A huge congratulations to our Footy Tipping Competition Winners! 🏆

After a season full of excitement, friendly rivalry, and plenty of expert predictions, our top tipsters have been crowned! Well done to everyone who took part and kept the competition alive each week.

It has been wonderful to see residents enjoying the footy season, sharing stories, discussing results, and cheering on their favourite teams. The competition brought plenty of laughs, friendly banter, and community spirit throughout the season.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and made this year's footy tipping competition such a success. We can't wait to do it all again next season!

Our recent fishing trip was an absolute hit, with residents enjoying a wonderful day by the water, sharing stories, laughter, and plenty of fishing adventures. There was excitement with every cast, and everyone loved spending time outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine.

A huge thank you to Fishability for their ongoing support, patience, and generosity in making this experience possible. Their team helped create a fun, inclusive, and memorable outing that our residents are still talking about!

Seeing the smiles, camaraderie, and sense of achievement throughout the day was truly special. These community partnerships help us create meaningful experiences that support wellbeing, connection, and joy for our residents.

There's plenty to look forward to this week at Singleton Community Aged Care!

We're excited to be celebrating Oktoberfest this weekend, with lots of fun, laughter, and themed activities for everyone to enjoy. 🍺🥨
By popular demand, Mocktails are back on the menu! 🍹 Our residents loved these refreshing creations, and we can't wait to mix up some more delicious drinks together.

💃 Chair Dancing has been rejuvenated! Recently introduced by our Wellbeing Team, this energetic and engaging activity was such a hit that residents have requested it become a weekly event. A big thank you to our lovely Lucy, who will continue leading these fun-filled sessions each week!

📢 A friendly reminder that Monday is a Public Holiday, however your favourite activities will still be running, so there will still be plenty of opportunities to connect, create, and have fun.

🎬 Don't forget about our beautiful cinema room, available for all residents to enjoy! With access to Netflix and Foxtel, there's always something to watch. We also have scheduled cinema activities, from classic and nostalgic movies to concert screenings featuring your favourite artists and bands. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

🌟 Our Upcoming Activity Calendar is Here! 🌟

There’s plenty to look forward to over the coming week at Singleton Community Aged Care!

💙 Dementia Action Week is upon us, and we invite our residents, families, visitors, volunteers, and staff to help us create a beautiful Community Forget-Me-Not Tree.
Using our existing Gratitude Tree in the café, we ask everyone to collect a Forget-Me-Not flower from Reception and add it to the tree throughout the week. 🌼
✨ Feel free to write a positive message, a memory, a word of encouragement, or a note of support on your flower before adding it to the display. Together, we can create a meaningful symbol of connection, understanding, and support for people living with dementia.

🎣 We are also excited to announce that our much-loved fishing outings are back! Residents will once again have the opportunity to enjoy time outdoors, cast a line, and connect with the beautiful local community and environment.

🏉 And for all our footy fans, don't forget the AFL Grand Final is this weekend! We’ll be showing the game live in the:
📺 Cinema
📺 Lounge areas
📺 Resident room TVs (Channel 7)
Wear your team colours, join fellow supporters, and enjoy all the excitement of the big game!

Our upcoming activity calendar is packed with opportunities for residents to stay active, social, creative, and connected. From exercise groups and games to outings, crafts, music and coffee catchups, there's something for everyone to enjoy!
We encourage residents to join in, try something new, reconnect with favourite activities, and make the most of the wonderful experiences on offer each day. 💙
