Did you know that emotional stress can sometimes show up physically in the body?
I recently had a client come in with a frozen shoulder. As she arrived, she said, “I know you probably won’t be able to do much.”
At the start, she could barely lift her arm to shoulder height.
As we worked together, it became clear there was more than just physical discomfort. There was a strong emotional theme around carrying too much responsibility, feeling overwhelmed, and never quite feeling like she could “reach” her goals.
It was like she was holding the weight of everything on her shoulders.
During the session, we gently worked through some of that stored stress and brought awareness to what her body may have been trying to communicate.
By the end, she could lift her arm above her shoulder.
The next morning, she messaged to say she woke up completely pain free… something she hadn’t experienced in months.
Our bodies are incredible communicators when we take the time to listen.
Sometimes symptoms are physical. Sometimes emotional. Often, they are both.
So the question is…
