✔ Professional indemnity insurance.

✔ Advanced training in relationship therapy (or a genuine commitment to undertaking recognised training such as EFT, Gottman Method or equivalent).

⭐ Experience in couples therapy, trauma therapy, EMDR, attachment-informed practice, neurodiverse relationships or s*x therapy will be highly regarded.

What you'll receive

• Established referral pathways and marketing support.

• Administrative support so you can focus on your clients.

• A beautiful, welcoming clinic environment.

• Clinical collaboration and consultation and access to free PD!

Scarcity doesn't just show up in our bank accounts.

It shows up in our relationships too and whispers things like:

"If my partner has close friends, there'll be less love left for me."
"If they spend more time at work, they're choosing work over me."
"If I don't hold on tightly, I'll lose them."

When we're operating from a scarcity mindset, our nervous system starts scanning for threats. We become more likely to seek reassurance, become controlling, withdraw, or interpret neutral events as rejection.

Having an abundance mindset means believing that love isn't a finite resourc. That your partner can love their work, family, friends, children and still love you deeply.

Healthy relationships are built by creating enough safety that neither person feels they have to hold on for dear life. Often, the strongest relationships are the one's where both people have the freedom to be themselves AND choose each other, over and over again.

Which mindset do you notice showing up most in your relationships?

💚 Save this post for the next time your mind starts telling you there's "not enough."

I hear this so often, one partner talks about how they feel lonely and unloved and the other partner says, but I do love you. And it just seems to land on deaf ears "see, I tell her, but she doesn't believe me".

My next question is always "what do you DO to make her feel loved?"

Crickets.

"Do you know what makes your partner feel loved?"

More crickets.

Love is not just a feeling, it's our actions and behaviours. The way we talk to our partner, the way we listen and respond to their hope, dreams, concerns. Do you know your partners goals, and dreams? Do you spend uninterrupted time together? Do you tell them what you are feeling instead of just assuming that they "know". Do you make an effort to be affectionate without expecting anything in return? Do you take things off their plate just to lighten their load? Do you tell them how much you appreciate their efforts even if they don't always get it right?

If you are not "doing" love then how do you expect your partner to feel loved?

Question to ask your partner tonight: What makes you feel loved in our relationship? Added Bonus - share what makes you feel loved and what you would like to see more of!

This week I got an email from my client management system saying my fees are going up (Boo!) as I have now hit the threshold for my current subscription.

1000 appointments completed at Life in Colour!!!

Over 100 individuals and couples seen in our little clinic and online over the past 2.5 years. This may not seem like much, but little old me would not have seen this as possible when I first decided to go out on my own in Private Practice. Never did I think I would successfully run my business online while I travelled Australia for 2 years. Now, fast forward almost 3 years later I have expanded back into face to face and my books are full 4 weeks in advance. I have a growing waitlist and I'm building a business that will hopefully go on to grow, expand and help more and more clients every year. Thankyou so much to all our referrers, supporters, stakeholders, clients and my fellow therapists and business friends for all the support and care, I definitely never saw this for myself, but now that I'm here I could not feel more aligned and content with where I have landed!

Therapist - Just casually ticking off the Gottman Checklist
Clients - "Doc we've tried nothing and it hasn't worked" 😉🙃

For some couples 1 hour a week just isn't enough, I have been absolutely loving the extended therapy sessions and intensives lately, we just get so much more depth out of the longer sessions and couples really get the chance to relax into therapy and open up in deeper ways. If you and your partner have been struggling to find the time to invest in your relationship reach out to discuss our options for intensives, they really are such a great way to get the most out of therapy 👌 The more I do the more I think this will be the way our clinic will progress over time!

Therapy can seem expensive., I get it! When people think they're paying for 50 minutes in a room, they're only seeing a small part of the picture.

Behind every session are years of university study, specialised training, ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, professional registration, thousands of hours working with clients, and a commitment to continually learning, so that the care you receive is evidence-based, and effective.

You're also supporting everything required to provide a safe, ethical and high-quality service. From insurance and software to administration, resources and a space where you can feel comfortable enough to do some of the hardest work of your life.

Whether you choose to work with Life in Colour, or another therapist, I hope you choose someone whose training, experience and approach feel like the right fit for you. Because the right therapist isn't always the cheapest. They're the one who helps you create the life and relationships you're hoping for.

Sometimes weekly therapy sessions don’t provide enough space to fully explore what’s happening in a relationship. When couples feel deeply stuck in painful patterns, a more focused approach can help create meaningful progress in a shorter period of time.

Couples intensives offer extended, dedicated time to work on your relationship without the usual interruptions of daily life. Over one or two days, we slow down the conflict patterns that keep couples stuck and work toward deeper understanding, emotional connection, and practical strategies for moving forward.

Intensives draw on evidence-based relationship approaches, helping couples understand the emotional dynamics beneath conflict while also learning practical tools for communication and repair.

For many couples, the intensive format allows for deeper conversations and breakthroughs that can be difficult to reach in shorter weekly sessions. For more information or to enquire about upcoming intensive dates check out our website - link in bio.
