When it comes to your hips, more mobility isn’t always the answer...
Mobility gives you access to a range of movement but control determines how well you can actually use that range.
Think about it like this:
🦵 Mobility = the movement available to you
🎯 Control = your ability to actively manage that movement
You might have plenty of hip mobility but struggle to control it under load. Or you might have less mobility but excellent control within your available range.
The goal isn’t necessarily to have the most mobile hips possible.
It’s to have enough mobility for what you need, combined with the strength and control to use it confidently.
So before endlessly stretching your hips, ask yourself:
“Do I actually need more mobility or do I need better control?”
That distinction can make a big difference when it comes to performance, injury management and long-term movement.
