💡 Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday!

Each week we share practical horse nutrition and management advice from our team and industry experts to help keep your horse happy, healthy and performing at their best.

This week’s tip comes from Equine Nutrition Advisor, Elicia Takenaga:

“If your horse is struggling to maintain weight and energy through winter, consider a conditioning feed such as Mitavite Builda. Formulated with a higher feeding rate, Builda allows you to safely increase calorie intake while maintaining a balanced nutrient profile. Its steam-extruded ingredients support digestibility and nutrient utilisation, helping poor-doing horses maintain condition, muscle and sustained energy throughout the colder months.”

Same trusted Builda. Now in a 20kg bag. 💛🖤

You may notice Builda is now available in a 20kg bag instead of 25kg. While the bag size has changed, the trusted Builda formulation remains exactly the same.

The move to a 20kg bag reflects our commitment to the health and safety of both our customers and retail staff. By reducing the bag size, we’re making lifting and handling easier while aligning Builda with the rest of the Mitavite range.

The price has also been adjusted in proportion to the reduction in bag size, so you’re continuing to receive the same trusted nutrition in a more practical and safer format.

If you have any questions about the change, our team is always happy to help.

This week’s tip comes from Equine Nutrition Advisor, Elicia Takenaga:

“Some horses can be sensitive to high-starch diets, resulting in increased excitability or ‘fizzy’ behaviour. Mitavite Cool Vitality and Xtra Cool provide calories from controlled starch levels, quality fats, and highly digestible fibre, helping support weight maintenance and condition with cool, controlled energy.”

💡 Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday!

Each week we’ll be sharing practical horse nutrition and management advice from our team and industry experts to help keep your horse happy, healthy and performing at their best.

This week’s tip comes from Equine Nutrition Advisor, Elicia Takenaga:

“A simple way to identify whether a feed is designed for a poor doer or a good doer is to look at the recommended feeding guidelines. Poor-doing horses typically require larger feeding rates to maintain condition, so these feeds often have higher recommended daily intakes. Most of the Mitavite range has been formulated for poor doers, while Munga and Promita were specifically developed for good to normal doers that require smaller feeding rates.”
