Leisure Networks has fantastic staff who are passionate about supporting people to be part of their community. We support people with an NDIS plan and we work in communities providing a range of programs to build strong, healthy and inclusive sporting clubs.

Over the past few months, Leisure Networks has partnered with Football Victoria to deliver All Abilities “Come and Try” programs across 9 clubs in the Barwon region — opening the door for more people to experience the joy of football.

At one of these sessions , a parent shared how meaningful the experience at the
Barwon Heads Soccer Club has been for her son:

"It’s so heartwarming to see Ned enjoying his first sport… we’ve tried so many settings before, but this is the first with huge success."

For a child who can find group environments overwhelming, having a space where he can feel safe, build confidence, and simply enjoy the game is incredibly powerful. ⚽

A big thank you to all the clubs, coaches and volunteers making moments like this possible every day — just like Ned. Because everyone deserves the chance to play, connect and belong

At our recent Parallel Sports Come & Try – Wheelchair Cricket session, participants rolled onto the court, picked up a bat, and experienced cricket in a whole new way 🏏

A huge thank you to the amazing St Joseph's Cricket Club , who went above and beyond to create a fully wheelchair-based session. As leaders in all abilities cricket, they made sure everyone could get involved, have fun, and feel part of the game 💙

One participant shared:
“It was wonderful to see how the games and skills were adapted for people of all abilities… It looked like everyone had a great day.”

🎯 Next up is archery!
Join us on Saturday 27 June, where Geelong Archers will be setting up fun targets and activities for everyone to try.

Our social group stepped into something a little different on Friday night with a
Geelong Gaol Ghost Tours 👻

With a full moon overhead and a light drizzle in the air, the atmosphere was set before we even made it through the gates.

Inside, the tour brought the Gaol’s history to life — from dimly lit corridors to fascinating stories of the past. It was a unique experience filled with curiosity, connection, and just the right amount of spooky moments to keep everyone on edge!

Through our Let’s Cook program, Emily has been building confidence in the kitchen—skills that are now showing up at home each week.

Her mum, Melinda, shared how impressed she has been with Emily’s progress, noting a real boost in both her confidence and ability. Emily is now more involved in meal preparation, putting her skills into practice in everyday life.

It’s a great example of how building practical skills can create real impact beyond the program—supporting confidence, independence, and growth. ✨
