I stopped pushing through money tasks while my nervous system was dysregulated. That sounds simple. It wasn’t.
For years I thought the responsible thing was to just get on with it. Sit down, open the laptop, look at the numbers, deal with it.

Even when my body was telling me something completely different. Even when I was stressed, overwhelmed, running on empty. What I didn’t understand then was that doing money work from that state wasn’t productive.

It was reinforcing the association between money and threat. Every time I forced myself through a financial task while dysregulated, my nervous system filed it away as more evidence that money was something to brace for.

So I stopped. Not avoidance. Something different. I started waiting until I felt grounded before engaging with anything money related. A few minutes of breathwork first. A walk. Sometimes just a glass of water and five minutes of stillness. And the relationship changed completely. Not because the tasks got easier. Because my body stopped treating them like a threat.

If you have ever noticed that you feel worse after doing money admin, not better, this is probably why. The problem was never the task. It was the state you were doing it in. Your nervous system is the foundation of your financial wellbeing. Everything else gets built on top of that.

A higher salary doesn't automatically mean a quieter mind. For a lot of high earners, the anxiety just scales with the income. Is that you?
Earning more than you used to, and still checking your account balance like it might have changed overnight.
The work that actually changes things goes deeper than the numbers. It's not about another budgeting hack or a smarter portfolio, it's about retraining the nervous system that's been treating money as a threat long before the income caught up.

That's the work I guide people through, one pattern at a time, until more money actually starts to feel like more ease.
If this is you, book a discovery call (link in bio) and let's find out what's really driving it. Swipe to see what I mean.

We're living in an age of endless money advice ... more tips, more content, more noise. And yet, financial anxiety keeps growing. If information alone could fix it, it already would have.

The patterns we repeat with money aren't random. They're beliefs formed years, sometimes decades, ago ... quietly running the show until we become aware of them.

Do you find yourself making the same money decisions, even when you know better?
Have you ever felt like you have all the knowledge, but still can't seem to shift the pattern?
If that sounds familiar ... this is exactly what the feature explores.
Because real change doesn't come from more information. It comes from understanding what's underneath it.

Somewhere along the way, I learned to earn good things twice.

A beautiful week.
A kind compliment.
A breakthrough with a client.
A moment where life simply felt… easy.

Instead of receiving it, a quiet part of me would ask for more proof.

Was it real?
Did I really deserve it?
Could I trust it?

As though one beautiful moment wasn’t enough.

As though ease had to justify itself.

Looking back, I can see I wasn’t questioning the moment.

I was questioning my worthiness of it.

I see this pattern in so many people I work with. We don’t always reject good things outright. Sometimes we simply postpone receiving them. We wait for more evidence. More certainty. More achievement. More struggle.

But what if nothing more was required?

What if the opportunity, the compliment, the abundance, the love, or the moment of peace was allowed to be enough?

One of the most profound shifts I’ve experienced, and witnessed in others, is learning that ease isn’t something you earn.

It’s something you allow yourself to receive.

With gratitude.
With presence.
Without needing to prove you’re worthy of it first.

Sometimes the greatest transformation isn’t learning how to achieve more, it’s learning how to receive what is already here.

The personal finance industry was built on the assumption that you just need a better system. Track more. Spend less. Try harder.
But no spreadsheet has ever calmed a nervous system and no amount of motivation fixes a survival response.
Awareness is where change begins. Action is where it becomes a new pattern. If you're ready to understand your own relationship with money, start with the Wealth Pattern Quiz via the link in my bio 🤍

How to identify the emotional story underneath the numbers. Because the numbers are never just numbers.

Every client who comes to me looking to work on something. Too much spending. Not enough saving. An income that looks fine but never feels like enough. A business that isn’t yet thriving.
And underneath every single one of those things is a story. A story about what money means. What having it says about them. What losing it would prove. Those stories weren’t formed in adulthood. They were absorbed.

From households, from overheard conversations, from the way money was spoken about or avoided entirely. And they have been quietly running every financial decision since.

So before we look at a single number, we start there. Because once you can see the story, you can change it. And when the story changes, everything else does too.
Save this if it resonates and follow for more on the side of money that nobody else is talking about.

The results were not what I expected. I went in thinking I would feel more motivated. More on top of things. Maybe a little more organised around my own finances and plan. What actually changed was quieter than that.

The bracing I didn’t even know I was doing every time I opened my banking app. Gone. The low hum of anxiety that sat in the background of even good months. Lifted.

Every morning I identified one inherited money story and consciously released it. That was the whole practice. No vision boards. No affirmations. Just sitting with a belief, recognising where it came from, and choosing not to carry it forward.

Day one felt subtle. By day thirty something had genuinely shifted.
Your nervous system is not broken. It is running a story that was never yours to begin with.
And thirty days is enough to start changing that. Drop a comment below and tell me how long you have been carrying your money story.

I don’t chase urgency anymore.
I don’t build from panic, pressure, or “figuring it out as I go.”

Because survival mode might make you money…
but it won’t make you wealthy.

Real wealth is built when your nervous system feels safe enough to be consistent.
When your decisions aren’t reactive.
When you’re not constantly bracing for something to go wrong.

Stability can feel unfamiliar at first, even uncomfortable.
But that’s usually the sign you’re doing something differently.

And differently is what changes everything.

If you’ve been stuck in cycles of burnout, inconsistency, or “quick wins” that don’t last…
this is your reminder:
You don’t need more pressure.
You need more safety, structure, and sustainability.
