Most people only notice the tic.
They don’t see the child trying to hold it in all day at school.
They don’t see the worry about being stared at, the frustration of not being able to control it, or the exhaustion that comes from constantly trying to suppress something that feels automatic.
For many children, tics can affect much more than movement.
They may impact confidence, concentration, friendships, and the simple joy of feeling comfortable in their own body.
As parents, it’s natural to want answers. But it’s also important to remember that every child is different, and every journey is unique.
Our role is to understand the child as a whole person, not just the tic.
We look at the bigger picture, taking into account factors such as their nervous system, sleep, digestion, stress levels, and overall wellbeing to create an individualised approach to care.
Neuro-Acupuncture may help support nervous system regulation and function, with the aim of helping the body work more efficiently.
As part of a holistic treatment plan, it may help some children better manage the challenges associated with tics.
Sometimes the greatest difference begins with helping a child feel calmer, more supported, and more confident in themselves.
❤️ Every child deserves to be seen for who they are, not defined by their symptoms.
