The 17 Nerang Street, Southport site has been the continuous location of an optometry practice since 1962. The purpose built location for optom

etry houses one of Queensland's most comprehensive optometry practices. Four consulting rooms and an optical laboratory make this one of the largest optometry practices under one roof in the state. The location serves as a focal centre for many seeking comprehensive optometry services provided by Michael Hare and his team. State of the art equipment allows the provision of digital retinal and slit lamp biomicroscope photography, ocular coherence tomography (OCT), visual field analysis, corneal topography and pachymetry. Such a level of instrumentation allows the team of Visions Michael Hare to detect and monitor conditions such as cataract, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

A little appreciation post for the wonderful Rannah 🧡

We had the pleasure of welcoming Rannah all the way from WA for a month-long placement with our team, and what an absolute pleasure she was to have!

Looking back on a special journey. 🌏

Over the years, we've been fortunate to support communities beyond our own. These photos were taken during Michael's visit to Micronesia, where he helped provide much-needed optometry care and eye care supplies to local communities.

☁️ Cloudy vision doesn't have to become your new normal. 👁️

June is Cataract Awareness Month.

Cataracts are one of the most common causes of vision changes as we age, often developing so gradually that you may not notice the difference at first. Blurred or cloudy vision, increased glare from lights, faded colours and difficulty driving at night can all be signs of cataracts.

Recently, we got together for a lovely evening of farewells, welcomes and a special birthday celebration. 🎂✨

As our team continues to grow and change, we're reminded just how lucky we are to have such a close-knit team. It really does feel like a little work family, and nights like these are a great chance to catch up, share a laugh, and celebrate the people who make our practice so special☺️

What makes their story so special is that it started right here in practice. Meagan spent more than 15 years as an optical dispenser, while Louise spent 5 years supporting patients and our team before pursuing optometry.

Today, they're both caring for patients in a new role, combining years of hands-on experience with their optometry qualifications🧡
