New Australian research has highlighted the connection between endometriosis and mental health, with almost half of women with endometriosis surveyed reporting anxiety. Pain, uncertainty, fertility concerns and the often long road to answers can all take a big toll on an individual.

It could be an early sign of perimenopause.

One of the first changes some women notice isn’t the hot flushes, it’s their cycle becoming different. As hormone levels fluctuate, periods can become shorter, longer, heavier, lighter or simply less predictable.

So if your usually reliable 28-day cycle suddenly becomes 23 days, it’s worth paying attention.Not every cycle change is perimenopause, though. If your bleeding pattern has changed, speak with your GP to rule out other causes.
