July is Sarcoma Awareness Month. 💛

Sarcoma is a rare and complex group of cancers, with more than 70 different subtypes. Because of this, early diagnosis and referral to a specialist team can make a real difference.

As Dr Karan Gupta, Medical Oncologist here at Tasman Health Care, shares:

"Early referral to a specialist sarcoma centre or an oncologist with expertise in sarcoma is vital because multidisciplinary specialist care consistently leads to better patient outcomes. Encouragingly, advances in molecular profiling, targeted therapies and immunotherapy are moving us beyond the traditional one-size-fits-all approach to treatment and offering new hope through increasingly personalised care."

A few weeks ago, our team attended an education dinner hosted by GenesisCare and East Coast Plastic Surgery. 📖📖📖

The GP Skin Cancer Education Dinner provided a space for specialists to share updates and insights into the evolving landscape of skin cancer treatment and care.

And the best part? Our very own Dr Bajaj was a guest presenter, providing an update on the skin cancer treatment landscape and the clinical trials currently open in the space. 😁🥳

We’re pleased to introduce our second Paxman Scalp Cooling machine on site for patients undergoing chemotherapy. The Paxman is a cancer supportive care machine with aims to reduce chemotherapy induced alopecia.

Our team is pleased to offer this service at no cost for our patients. ❤️‍🩹

We recommend any patients interested to chat to your Oncologist and our nursing team to explore whether scalp cooling is right for you.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our raffle for the Mother’s Day Classic! 💗

Thanks to the generosity of everyone that purchased a ticket, we were able to raise over $600 to support breast and ovarian cancer research and awareness.

We loved seeing everyone get involved for such an important cause. Including Anya for smashing out 8km on the weekend in the race! And of course thanks to Lauren for organising another great Tasman Fundraiser. 💪
