We are delighted to welcome Dr Niyati Sharma, Consultant Dermatologist, to the QC Specialist Centre team in St Albans.

Dr Sharma is a Melbourne-raised dermatologist with extensive experience caring for patients of all ages and skin types. She is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centred care and is passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for her patients.

Dr Sharma's areas of expertise include:

We are thrilled to welcome Dr Cindy Bach, Nephrologist, to our growing team of specialists!

With her expertise and dedication to patient care, Cindy will be a valuable addition, helping us provide the highest standard of care to our community.

Dr Cindy Bach graduated with Honours from Monash University in 2015 and completed her specialist nephrology training at Austin Health and Bendigo Health. She is currently undertaking a glomerulonephritis fellowship with the Nephrology Department at the Austin.

Cindy welcomes referrals in all aspects of nephrology including chronic kidney disease, refractory hypertension, glomerulonephritis and those who require dialysis.

She speaks English and Vietnamese.

We would like to warmly welcome and introduce Dr Filipe Gonsalves, Consultant Haematologist to our team of physicians.

Dr Filipe Gonsalves is a dedicated and compassionate Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist. After finishing his medical degree with honors, he went on to complete his basic physician training at St Vincent’s Melbourne. He then pursued further specialisation in clinical haematology, and trained at The Alfred, Monash, and St Vincent’s.

Filipe went on to complete his laboratory training at the PeterMacallum Cancer Center before joining Western Health as a senior clinical registrar. He holds public appointments as a Consultant Haematologist at Western Health and Monash Health, and is proud to offer his services to his local community in the western suburbs.

We are delighted to warmly welcome Dr Dan Tran to the Nephrology team at our clinic!

Dr Dan Tran is an enthusiastic and dedicated nephrologist. He graduated from Medicine at Monash University, and after training in Nephrology in the Northern Territory, Western Health and Monash Health, obtained his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2021.

Following this, he was a Clinical Fellow in Renal Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He now works as a Consultant Nephrologist and General Medicine Consultant at Western Health and Fresenius Sunshine Dialysis Clinic.

His interests include hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis planning and supervision, as well as supportive care. Dan speaks English and Vietnamese.

We are delighted to welcome Associate Professor Peter Hughes to our clinic and to inform all existing patients that Peter has relocated his private practice at Sunshine Private Hospital to our premises in St Albans.

Associate Professor Peter Hughes qualified from Monash University and undertook his advanced training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) and Austin Hospital.

He was awarded an NHMRC scholarship to perform a PhD at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute.

He has been a consultant nephrologist at the RMH since 2008 and has been the physician in charge of kidney transplantation since 2012. His research interests include transplanting across immunological barriers, thrombotic microangiopathy and complement mediated disease.

In 2017 Peter was appointed as Director of the National Paired Kidney Exchange Program. Peter has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.

We are delighted to welcome Associate Professor Rosemary Masterson to our clinic and to inform all exisiting patients that Rosemary has now relocated her private practice at Sunshine Private Hospital to our premises in St Albans.

A/Professor Rosemary Masterson is a Consultant Nephrologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and an honorary clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne. She completed her undergraduate medical training at the National University of Ireland and undertook her Nephrology specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and subsequently at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, UK.

She completed a PhD thesis examining the role of endogenous and naturally occurring antagonists of renal fibroblast function at the University of Melbourne.

Her main clinical focus is in renal transplantation, home haemodialysis and co-ordinating the transition pathway and young adult renal clinic at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

After months of renovations and building works, our clinic next door at 504 Main Road West, St Albans is complete and ready for occupancy!

It has been 3 years since we opened QC Specialist Centre and we are incredibly proud and excited to have purposely built more consulting space for more specialists to cater for the growing population and healthcare needs of communities in the Western Suburbs in Melbourne.

We are now open to expressions of interest from other healthcare professionals and providers looking to establish a successful private practice alongside us!
