🌸 REMEMBERING VALDA JOYCE BRADFORD 🌸
14 January 1933 – 28 July 2026

On Friday, 7 August, we had the privilege of helping Valda’s family bring together a beautiful farewell at the Pavilion of Tranquility, Kemps Creek Memorial Park.

And looking at that smile, it was only fitting that Valda’s farewell had plenty of colour. 💜🌸

Soft pinks, purples and beautiful florals filled the Pavilion as family and friends gathered to remember a woman who had shared 93 years of life, love, memories and stories with those around her.

There is something incredibly special about a funeral that feels like the person it is celebrating.

From Valda’s smiling face on her service booklets, to the personalised candle, the flowers and every little detail throughout the Pavilion, her family made sure the day was unmistakably Valda.

Surrounded by those who loved her, stories were shared, memories revisited and a life spanning more than nine decades was celebrated before Valda was accompanied on her final journey.

To Valda’s family, thank you for placing your trust in Harmony Funerals and allowing our team the privilege of caring for Valda and walking beside your family.

It was an honour to play a small part in celebrating such a long and wonderfully lived life.

Rest peacefully, Valda. 🌸

❤️🤍 A FINAL JOURNEY FOR BRIAN NORMAN ❤️🤍

Some funerals simply couldn’t belong to anybody else.

Brian Norman’s farewell was one of those.

Before making our way to the service, we first brought Brian home one final time, back to the place that held so many memories and to the people who loved him most.

From there, Brian’s journey continued to The Kingsway Footy Fields, a place where he had spent so much of his time over the years. Waiting there were more family and friends, ready to join the procession and follow Brian on his final journey.

And, in what felt like Brian getting one last cheeky laugh in, there happened to be an RBT set up just outside the fields… meaning everyone following the hearse effectively received a free pass straight through. 😂 We reckon Brian would have enjoyed that one.

His love of the St George Illawarra Dragons was impossible to miss. ❤️🤍

From the red and white draping surrounding him, to the Dragons proudly displayed on his coffin, a jersey laid across it and the many mourners who arrived wearing their colours, Brian’s personality and passions were woven throughout his farewell.

With Mick Bourke leading the service, a chapel filled with family and friends came together to remember a man who clearly meant so much to so many.

At the graveside, we wanted Brian’s younger family and friends to have their own special way of saying goodbye.

So, as Brian was lowered to his final resting place,all the children gathered around and filled the air with colourful glitter, a simple but beautiful moment that allowed them to be involved in Brian’s farewell in a way they could understand and remember. ✨

There were tears. There was laughter. There were stories. There was plenty of red and white. There was even a little bit of cheekiness.

And above all else, there was LOVE.

Thank you to Brian’s family for placing their trust in Harmony Funerals and allowing us the privilege of bringing together a farewell that was unmistakably Brian.

Some farewells are so special they cannot be contained within a single day.

A few weeks ago, Harmony had the privilege of honouring the life of Stanley “Stan” Burman across two heartfelt services.

Stan’s Celebration of Life was held in the beautiful Greenway Chapel, Green Point, close to the community he had called home in his later years.

Family and friends gathered to share stories, laughter and tears as they reflected on a remarkable 95 years of life, love and cherished memories.

The following day, Stan made his final journey to St Marys Cemetery, where he was laid to rest with his beloved wife, Sheila.

It was a quiet and deeply moving moment as, after time apart, they were reunited once again.

To Stan’s family, thank you for allowing us to walk beside you throughout both days. It was an honour to help create a farewell that truly reflected the man Stan was and the legacy he leaves behind.

Every farewell is unique, because every life is unique. It was our privilege to help tell Stan’s story.
