Today we farewelled the late Royce Royal Hura at Kemps Creek Memorial Park, surrounded by those who knew and loved him most.
Today, in the Pavilion of Tranquility, we honoured his life and released doves, a gentle and symbolic farewell, carrying with them our love, our grief, and our memories.
Royce returned home for his final three nights, held close by his whānau in aroha a sacred time of kōrero, remembrance, and farewell. Back where his wairua belonged.
A special mention must be made to his beautiful daughter, Dakota, who is just five years old. Your strength, your presence, and the love you carry for your Dad did not go unnoticed. He lives on in you always.
Royce’s farewell was a reminder of the importance of whānau and culture and taking the time to say goodbye properly.
Hoki atu rā ki ō tūpuna, ki te kāinga tūturu o te wairua. Moe mai rā.
(Return to your ancestors, to the true home of the spirit. Rest now).🤍
