LETS TALK ABOUT THE ACHILLES ✨
Achilles Tendinopathy is a common overuse injury we see in runners, walkers or sports people.
Pain and stiffness is felt in the lower calf muscle / heel, especially after a short period of rest or first thing in the morning. This condition is often caused by a sudden change in training load.
There are two types of Achilles tendinopathy, mid-portion and insertional, and the treatment for each differs slightly so an accurate diagnosis is crucial.
Treatment might include heel raisers, taping, soft tissue release, exercise and activity modification.
