If you are aged 75 years or older, or are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person aged 60 years or older, and have not previously received an RSV vaccine, you are eligible for a funded RSV vaccine.

Phone the surgery today to book your appointment. πŸ“ž

From 15 May, ( ) vaccination is available FREE for all Australians aged 75+ and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60+.

Highly contagious, RSV causes seasonal outbreaks, usually during the winter months. Older people are at increased risk of complications from severe RSV, including pneumonia or the worsening of existing medical conditions, that may put them in hospital.

Speak to your GP, pharmacist or community vaccination provider for more information before the RSV season arrives. Don’t go unprotected.

For links to further information about RSV protection for older adults, see comments.

May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month β€” a time to raise awareness and stand together against violence.

Please see the post below for details of candlelight vigils being held across Tasmania on 6 May, and a list of supports in place to help anyone who is suffering or at risk of violence of any kind.

A series of candlelight vigils are being held across Tasmania on Wednesday May 6, as part of nationwide events to honour and remember those who have lost their life or been affected by family violence.

May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, to raise community awareness of the social and personal impact of domestic and family violence, and the support available to those affected.

Please join us to send a strong message that we reject all forms of violence, including that which occurs in close personal relationships.

Hobart: Parliament lawns at 5.30pm
Ulverstone: Mt Gnomon Room, Wharf precinct at 6pm
