The last few weeks have been busy!

I had the privilege of participating in the Fresh Summit events across the country, talking to nurses, injectors and practitioners about something I genuinely believe doesn't get enough airtime in aesthetics. The consultation. Not the technique.

But before all of that, I am just someone who fell in love with this field of medicine and spent years figuring out how to do it better.

Technique improves with practice.

How do you end your patient appointments? Many injectors forget that the end of the consultation needs as much attention as the beginning. They rush the patient out the door.

The way a consultation closes often impacts everything that comes after it. How anxious the patient is. How many times they call. How long they need during the review.

Post-treatment communication is not complicated. But it is non-negotiable.

86% of patients want to reduce signs of aging whilst maintaining a completely natural look.

That means the vast majority of people sitting in your chair aren't asking for dramatic change. They are asking to look like themselves again, just refreshed, just restored.

But natural is one of the most subjective words in aesthetics. Without a thorough consultation to understand exactly what it means to each individual patient, expectations will almost always be misaligned.

That is why the consultation isn't a formality. It is where outcomes are shaped. Where trust is built. And where a patient's definition of success is uncovered before treatment ever begins.
