National Pain Week 🧡

Pain is complex. It isn’t always a sign that your body is damaged, and for many people, pain can continue long after an injury has healed.

As Exercise Physiologists, we understand that persistent pain is influenced by many factors—including stress, sleep, movement habits, emotions, previous experiences, and overall health. That’s why managing pain is about much more than simply “fixing” an injury.

Exercise is one of the most effective evidence-based treatments for persistent pain. When prescribed appropriately, movement can:
• Improve strength and function
• Reduce pain sensitivity over time
• Increase confidence in movement
• Improve mood
• Help people return to the activities they enjoy

The key is finding the right exercise at the right level.

So let’s shift the conversation from avoiding movement to understanding it. With the right guidance, movement can become a powerful tool for recovery—not something to fear.

If pain has been holding you back, there are effective strategies to help you and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Reach out to our awesome exercise physiology team to get the right treatment you need.

Sometimes the problem isn’t weakness… it’s protection. 🟠

Your body is smart. If it thinks a movement is a threat, it’ll tighten up to protect you. Remove the unnecessary tension, and movement can change almost instantly.

The trigger ball isn’t magic, it just helps give the body a reason to let go.

Balance isn’t just about standing still.

This client is working on dynamic balance, coordination, reaction time, and lower limb strength all at once. By combining an unstable surface with upper-body tasks, we’re challenging the brain and body to communicate more effectively—an important component of reducing falls risk and maintaining confidence with everyday movement.

Exercises like this help improve:
âś… Balance and stability
âś… Proprioception (body awareness)
âś… Coordination and reaction time
âś… Lower limb strength and endurance
âś… Confidence with movement

Today we are walking 24km to support young people living with a disability đź’™

Every step is a reminder that movement matters — not just for our own health, but for creating opportunities, inclusion, and better support for those who need it most. For many, something as simple as walking freely isn’t guaranteed, which is why raising awareness and funds is so important.

If you’re able to, please consider donating or sharing. Your support helps provide resources, access, and brighter futures for young people and their families.

Let’s make every step count 👣
