💜 Today is International Bereaved Father’s Day and we would like to recognise and honour all fathers who have been affected by the loss of a pregnancy, stillbirth or the death of a baby or child.

💜 We know that fatherhood does not end with the death of a child, and that fathers may have a different experience of grief compared to mothers.

💜 We are dedicated to supporting dads and their families through the grief process and beyond.

Welcomed good news! Medicare rebates for IVF will extend to solo mums and le***an couples🙌🏻🧬🤰🏼🏳️‍🌈 By broadening the medical definition of infertility to include…. "the inability to achieve a successful pregnancy based on a patient’s medical, sexual, and reproductive history, age, physical findings, diagnostic testing, or any combinations of these factors, and the need for medical intervention to achieve a successful pregnancy."

Advocates have welcomed the health department's move to accept an expanded definition of infertility that includes LGBTIQ+ couples and single people.

🌸 Hello and Welcome!🙋🏼‍♀️I’m Fiona, a Registered Counsellor, located on the Sunshine Coast, QLD (Australia). I see individuals and couples for a wide range of human experiences such as grief, loss, relationships, interpersonal challenges, workplace and family issues, stress, anxiety, fear, trauma, you name it! I also specialise in fertility support. Whether you’re navigating the emotional ups and downs of trying to conceive, dealing with infertility, pregnancy loss or exploring assisted reproductive technologies like IVF, I’m here to provide guidance, understanding, and emotional support through every step of your journey.

As an ANZICA Counsellor, I also offer implication counselling to those embarking on third party reproduction with the help of a donor. If you’re not on the Sunshine Coast, that’s no problem as I see clients interstate and internationally via Telehealth (Zoom).

Fertility challenges can bring up a range of emotions—from grief and frustration to hope and uncertainty. My goal is to create a compassionate, safe space where you can explore these feelings, build resilience, and regain a sense of control and peace.

Getting silly for a serious cause…Red Nose Day 2024!🔴 To raise awareness and vital funds for who support parents and families bereaved by the loss of a much loved child, young person, baby, pregnancy through many support services, such as 24x7 support line, support groups, Hospital To Home, free counselling, pregnancy and safe sleeping education, rememberance events..I can tell you first hand the huge difference this organisation (and Sands) make to the lives of people who never want to join ‘that club’. So please, buy a red nose, pen, sock, toy or just donate to an incredibly valuable organisation!

As I said in my Stories..a rich, raw, real conversation about packing the baby dreams away, creating a fulfilling life in new ways, the club no one wants to join, partner’s grief and how it can look different and different times and of course, loving and honouring a much loved baby held in their hearts not their arms. It’s very hard to capture everyone’s nuanced journey in one person’s story. But I think shares valuable insights that can apply to so many in their individual ways.
