The word itself carries the medicine.
The herb you burn when something needs to shift. When the air has grown heavy and you need to clear what no longer belongs before something new can settle.
She doesn’t arrive gently. She arrives in smoke. In the slow, deliberate burning away of what has been held too long. And then, when the smoke clears, there is light. Dappled. Filtered through something ancient and quiet and alive.
That’s her. That’s the real SAGE.
She is welcomed at the table. Wise, warm, nature infused, the colour of autumn light through old trees. Nobody fears the SAGE. She doesn’t frighten anyone, least of all herself.
And that’s exactly what makes her the most seductive of all the archetypes.
Because SAGE can become the place we rest when we’re not quite ready to go all the way through. She lets us feel like we’ve arrived without the full reckoning that HAG, CRONE, and WITCH demand of us.
She is real. She is genuinely beautiful. But she is earned, not bypassed.
The real SAGE has been through fire. She has sat with CRONE, retrieved what WITCH knew, let HAG show her what needed releasing. And now she rests in her knowing without needing anyone to approve of it.
That’s the SAGE worth becoming.
