I have given birth twice.
And twice, I held a version of myself I had never met before.
With Bodhi it was self expression. His pregnancy excavated through the layers of energetic padding and reconnected me to a new well of inner creativity. He unearthed me. Sent me deeper into the spiritual realms. I learnt expression across every facet of myself.
With Arlo, from the beginning, no matter what I asked or did, he gave me one word. Freedom. And he unpacked every corner of my life I thought I was free in but truly wasn’t. His pregnancy guided me to creative sovereignty, deep nourishment, sacred waters. He wove my devotion back into life in a whole new way.
Bringing life into this world moves you. It moves your timeline. It moves you into the very fabric of existence and you remember yourself as a pathway of exactly that.
I felt guilty at first. Stepping away from the women I had served. From the collective work. But this season, the wandering, the devotion, the being with my babies completely, gave me a depth I could only have received by going all the way in.
That guilt turned me toward myself to face the part of me that wanted to make a huge impact but felt small.
Then I looked into my babies’ eyes.
And my impact never felt so big.
A baby’s rawness is the closest you will get to embodied love. And that’s the whole point.
I soon realised my connections to life were even stronger.
The more whole you are the stronger the bridge you become.
