EOFY is closer than you think — and so is the deadline to use this year's training budget.

If first aid, CPR, mental health first aid or psychosocial hazard training has been on your "we'll get to it" list, now is the time to lock it in.

Three reasons to book before 30 June:
✔ Training fees paid to an RTO are generally tax-deductible in the year they're incurred — book now and it counts in this financial year.
✔ Unspent training budget rarely rolls over. Spend it on capability now, or watch it reset on 1 July.
✔ WHS duties — including the new psychosocial hazard obligations — aren't going anywhere. Training is how you show you've done the right thing by your team.

At Assist Training we make it easy. Onsite, online at your workplace or at our training centre, accredited group training in:
→ Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) & Provide CPR (HLTAID009)
→ Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
→ The Working Mind - Mental Health Training for Workplaces
→ Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace

Get more tips on getting your training budget across the line and a free downloadable one page business case template → www.assistfirstaid.com.au/get-your-training-approved/

Want a tailored EOFY quote? Send us a message. We'll get your team trained, certified and compliant.

We're very excited to be offering the evidence-based program The Working Mind (TWM).

Proven to shift workplace culture and strengthen mental wellbeing, TWM helps workplaces foster psychologically safe environments.

Why does this matter?
✅ When people feel supported, they perform better
✅ When leaders feel confident, teams thrive
✅ When workplaces invest in mental health literacy, culture transforms

Offering both MHFA and TWM courses means Assist Training can support workplaces to build staff capacity and create a mentally healthy culture.

Assist Training are proud to be the first to offer TWM on the Sunshine Coast. Public online and face to face courses are available from June and we are ready to train your team online or onsite.

Mental health doesn't just fit into two boxes of either "ok" or "in crisis" It moves along a continuum.

Green — healthy and coping.
Yellow — reacting to stress, but functioning.
Orange — struggling at work or home.
Red — needing professional support.

Recognising where you or others are on the continuum means that you can do something at yellow or orange — long before it gets to red.

This is a key tool we teach in The Working Mind, our newest workplace mental-health course. Five hours for employees, eight for managers. Public courses, in-house at your workplace or online.

Who in your team would benefit?

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for someone in distress isn't offering solutions — it's simply being present.

This session dives into the 'L' step of the ALGEE Action Plan (Listening non-judgementally) and gives you practical tools to:
✅ Understand why we instinctively want to "fix" — and why that can sometimes make things harder
✅ Build confidence in active listening and validation techniques
✅ Maintain healthy boundaries and avoid burnout
✅ Feel more supported and skilled in your MHFA role This one's for you.

🌿 Working Well: Psychosocial Hazards 101 Workshop

Every workplace has its challenges — but understanding and managing psychosocial hazards is key to maintaining a safe, supportive, and legally compliant environment.

Join us for Working Well, a practical workshop designed to build knowledge of current psychosocial laws, awareness of hazards in the workplace and help your organisation meet its legal responsibilities under current WHS psychosocial legislation.

The workshop explores real-world examples such as workload, role clarity, support, and change management — and learn how these hazards can be identified and addressed early.

This session equips leaders and staff with the tools and confidence to recognise risks, have constructive conversations, and foster a healthier, safer, and more sustainable work environment.

💡 Stay compliant. Stay connected. Work well — together.

🗓️ 27 April - 9.30am to midday
📍 Assist Training Centre - Warana - Sunshine Coast

We’re excited to share that our team will be at the Lift the Lid Walk for Mental Health’s 10th anniversary on Sunday, 19th October 2025, starting from Mooloolaba Surf Club at 8am! This meaningful event is a fun, inclusive walk to raise awareness of mental health issues.

If you’re passionate about mental health, join us and hundreds of locals as we walk to Maroochydore and back (or Alex Surf Club if you prefer a shorter route). Entry is $30 for adults (includes a t-shirt) and free for kids under 15. And you can bring your doggo!

100% of the funds raised go into supporting mental health research.

We’re proud to stand with Mooloolaba Rotary and the Sunshine Coast community in lifting the lid on mental illness.
