These areas target the key messages from current Health Promotion Plan of Swan Hill District Health under promoting healthy lifestyles with a foc

us on nutrition, oral health, physical activity, inclusion, participation and equity. The program has been running since 2013 and aims to provide the best and most up to date information on health living programs and knowledge to educate and support the Swan Hill and District community. Based in Swan Hill we aim to keep as much of our information as local as possible while sharing reputable information sources across the country and the globe. Breastfeeding Matters. So Do You.

This World Breastfeeding Week, we're celebrating the unique breastfeeding journeys of local families through a special photography and storytelling project.
Every parent has their own story. For some, breastfeeding comes easily. For others, it's filled with challenges, learning, support and resilience. However your journey looks, your experience matters.

Over the coming week, we'll be sharing beautiful photographs taken by Nicole Featherby Photography and heartfelt stories from local mums, reminding our community that there is no "perfect" breastfeeding journey only your own.

We hope these stories help other families feel seen, supported and less alone.

Term 3, dental screenings will be happening in kinders and long day cares๐Ÿชฅ๐Ÿ˜.The Smiles 4 Miles coordinator and Swan Hill District Health Dental services team will be visiting kinders and long day cares across term 3. The Smiles 4 Miles coordinator reads a book โ€˜Maisy goes to the dentistโ€™ and the kids get to brush Leo the dragonโ€™s teeth. Gemma from the dental team provides dental screenings where they look at childrenโ€™s teeth and count how many teeth they have too! The dental screenings happening in familiar environment with their peers can form positive connections with the dentist which helps to promote good oral health habits from a young age.

This term our amazing Smiles 4 Miles Coordinator Bronte and the team delivered 21 Eat a Rainbow sessions, reaching over 438 children across kinders and long day cares!๐Ÿคฉ
