It was an impressive encore when The Men’s Shed Chorale returned to Charingfield recently for another stunning performance as a headline act for our Christmas in July celebration. Residents, who are big fans of the choir, enjoyed chatting and connecting with the choir members over their love of music and memories of past performances. 🌟 Friday was Aged Care Employee Day, a moment to once again express our sincere gratitude to Charingfield’s dedicated team members for everything you do to enhance the wellbeing of residents who call our community home.🌟

We recently took part in Apollo Care’s very special initiative called 'Moments that Matter'. This initiative encouraged staff across our 14 not-for-profit communities to recognise and nominate the moments of kindness, compassion and teamwork that make a genuine difference to the lives of residents and their families, and their colleagues.

For Charingfield, one such moment was when resident, Lucia, noticed a family waiting to take a tour of our community. She immediately decided to take charge herself, declaring proudly, “Who better to show you around Charingfield than me? I have lived here for six years, and I couldn’t be happier with my home!” The family was so impressed seeing Charingfield through Lucia’s eyes. It brought them much comfort that they were choosing an aged care community where resident clearly love to live.

It was a packed house last week as residents came along to another one of our garden activities held in Charingfield's Club Lounge. Always a popular event on our Lifestyle Calendar, this time Head Gardener Hayden demonstrated the ancient art of Bonsai. Some keen residents even had a go themselves!

Residents love their regular walks around our vibrant Waverley community. As they stroll along Bronte Road, they greet and connect with locals, explore the shops and grab a bite to eat at their favourite cafe.

We love helping residents stay connected to their loved ones, and at Charingfield, family and friends are always welcome! 💗 Resident Ruth was delighted to enjoy Happy Hour with her daughter Sarah. “Spending time with my family makes me feel so happy,” she said.
