Fibermaxxing. If you have not come across it, it is the current push
to get your fibre as high as you can - thirty grams a day and
counting.
The number may not be the problem. The mistake is hitting it with
one source π₯¬
Your gut is not counting grams. It is relying on variety, and it is
feeding a population. Different bacteria eat different fibres, so
thirty grams of the same supplement is not the same thing as
thirty grams spread across vegetables, legumes, whole grains,
nuts and fruit.
Spread it around. And if you go from ten grams to thirty overnight,
expect your gut to have an opinion about that.
How many different plants did you actually eat this week?
