An e***a and a colonic both use water to help empty the bowel but they are very different.

Let’s start with an **e***a**. This is a proper e***a, not those tiny little tubes you buy over the counter.

An e***a introduces a smaller amount of fluid into the re**um.

Depending on the type and volume used, it may help empty the a**s, re**um and lower bowel, and with larger-volume e***as, potentially some of the sigmoid colon.

Drinking heaps of water but it goes straight through you? 💧

You might not need more water — you might need minerals. Electrolytes (a good hydration salt, or even a pinch of Celtic salt) help your body actually hold onto water and use it, instead of flushing it straight out.

So if you’re sipping all day and still feel dry, thirsty or puffy — it might be your electrolytes, not your water bottle.
