Formthotics are a custom medical insole made from a high grade closed cell foam designed to be lightweight, flexible and highly supportive.

Formthotics have proven effectiveness in reducing foot and ankle pain, treating and preventing injuries. This custom fitted orthotic significantly improves patient comfort during physical activity, and are well known to be the most comfortable orthotic on the market!🏃🏻‍♀️

🔑 Terminal knee extension (TKE) is when the knee is slightly hyper-extended and stabilised by the cruciate and collateral ligaments of the knee.

Restoring TKE is an important goal of a rehabilitation program. A loss of TKE may impact knee mechanics during walking and standing. 🔐

We often see in clinic patients who suffer from knee osteoarthritis, knee meniscal injury or knee surgical repair, and running injuries will present with a loss of TKE.

A primary goal at Focussed Physiotherapy is to have a positive effect on our patients ability to achieve end range knee extension/TKE during activities of daily living. ✅

The exercise shown is completed with a powerband and is used for specific knee rehab programs. Simply place the power band or thera-band behind your knee, allowing it to pull you in about 30 degrees of flexion, then squeeze back into extension by contracting your quads. See how you go. 👍
