Is AI coming for healthcare jobs — or not?

Turns out, AI could automate a big chunk of clinical documentation, prescription management, and admin. But real-world adoption? Tiny.

For GPs, the takeaway is reassuring: hands-on patient care, clinical judgment, and accountability keep you firmly irreplaceable. AI might actually be a tool to cut the paperwork burden, not replace doctors.

🩺 Useful free tool for Australian GPs – MBS Billing Assistant

I recently came across this Chrome extension and thought it would be worth sharing with fellow GPs, GP Registrars, Practice Owners, and Practice Managers.

MBS Billing Assistant provides a quick checklist for Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers to help review billing requirements before submitting claims.

Simply enter an MBS item number (e.g. 3, 23, 36, or 44) and it displays a concise, easy-to-read checklist, along with a direct link to the official MBS page for verification.
