Happy Aged Care Employee Day! Today Friday 7 August we are pausing to shine a spotlight on the heart and soul of our organisation: our extraordinary staff! 👏🎉

Across every single one of our RFBI communities our teams are coming together for special morning teas, lunches and celebrations to honour the remarkable dedication of our workforce. Whether they are delivering compassionate daily care, preparing delicious meals, keeping our grounds beautiful or organising joyful lifestyle activities, our team members bring their best every single day.

The lounge room at RFBI Coffs Harbour Masonic Village has been filled with the sweetest little chirps lately 🐥✨

Our recent egg hatching program was a success from start to finish. In the lead-up to the big day, residents spent creative afternoons in art and craft sessions, making vibrant signs and colourful decorations to advertise the chicks upcoming arrival right across the village.

The excitement was real as everyone gathered to watch the eggs hatch and witness 11 healthy little chicks emerge into the world. The baby chicks brought so many bright smiles, wonderful conversations and heart warming moments to residents, staff and visitors alike.

Now that the program has wrapped up, all 11 chicks are heading off to be rehomed with one of our lovely staff members, where they will continue to be spoiled and well cared for.

You never quite know who might bounce through the doors at RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village 🐯✨

Our residents, staff and visitors received a wonderful mid-day surprise when our General Manager, Jodie dressed head-to-toe as Tigger!

Jodie has already dropped a hint that this will not be her last costume surprise. She's planning more fun dress-up days throughout the year and is encouraging the whole team to get involved alongside our regular themed village activities.

Creating a warm, positive environment where we can share spontaneous moments of joy is what makes our community feel like one big family. Embracing a little bit of fun is just one of the many ways our team brings bright smiles to our residents every single day.

Pack your bags, because our residents just took a virtual flight to Glasgow, Scotland ✈️🎟️

We took residents in RFBI Basin View Masonic Village on another armchair travel adventure. Of course, to begin everyone needed to use their personal travel passports, which were stamped as they boarded and headed off on a sightseeing tour, completed with a traditional Scottish lunch.

This trip took residents all the way to the Commonwealth Games, where they grabbed their pom-poms to support the Aussies and even competed in their own indoor shot put and netball challenges.

Travelling the world creates the best memories, but sharing those stories with friends makes them even sweeter ✈️📸

Our Leisure & Lifestyle team at RFBI Holt Masonic Village recently hosted a very special 'Show and Tell' session, starring resident Margaret and her husband Kevin. Years ago, Kevin and his daughter took a trip to Norway. Although Margaret could not make the journey herself, she lovingly crafted a stunning photo album using all the photographs they brought home.

Kevin took the stage to share fascinating stories about Norway, talking everyone through photos of magnificent landmarks like the Tromso Arctic Cathedral, the Oslo Cathedral and the Atlantic Ocean Road.

The experience was made even better when other residents who'd been to Norway chimed in with their own travel stories. It was a wonderful opportunity for shared stories.

Who says you have to wait until December for a little festive magic? 🎄🍗🎸

Residents across both our Residential and Retirement Village in Holt recently came together for a spectacular Christmas in July celebration!

The day was filled with a delicious feast of roast ham, roast turkey, crispy baked potatoes and a very special secret sauce that brought back so many cherished festive memories. The excitement kept going with a lucky dip where plenty of lucky residents scored fun prizes. Mr Claus himself even made a special guest appearance 🎅

To top off a fantastic afternoon, the Ruff and Ready Band took the stage, playing a mix of popular Christmas carols alongside classic hits from Elvis Presley. The lounge room was buzzing as residents sang along and tapped their toes.

We've recently introduced live piano performances during lunch at RFBI Concord Community Village, thanks to a wonderful volunteer named Robin.

Robin first joined us as a student on placement at Concord and loved the community so much she decided to come back as a dedicated volunteer!

The soft piano music fills the dining room, creating a peaceful atmosphere that brings comfort and joy to the residents while they eat.

It's been great to see how the melodies spark sweet memories, get residents chatting together and turn an everyday meal into a special occasion.

Seeing the joy on everyone's faces when Robin sits down at the keys is what our village family is all about 💛
