Be organised.
Don’t forget anything.
Don’t be late.
Don’t be too much.
Don’t drop the ball.
Don’t let anyone see how hard this is.
So you over compensate.
You overprepare.
You overthink.
You become hyper-responsible.
You push through exhaustion.
You build elaborate systems to keep everything together.
And from the outside?
You look incredibly capable.
But capability and capacity are not the same thing.
You can be highly capable — and have almost nothing left in the tank.
Maybe the next level of your life isn’t about becoming better at managing yourself.
Maybe it’s about questioning how much of yourself you’ve been spending just to appear like you have it all together???
Some of the most capable women I know are absolutely exhausted.
Not because they’re incapable of handling their lives.
Because they’ve become extraordinarily skilled at compensating.
And when you’ve spent years overriding yourself, anticipating what could go wrong, masking, overthinking and holding yourself to impossible internal standards, that consumes capacity.
The goal isn’t to squeeze more productivity out of an already overloaded system.
It’s to reclaim the capacity being consumed by subconscious patterns you may no longer need.
Patterns that tell you you’re not good enough, you’re a mess and you’ll never amount to anything.
All the mental narrative is weighing you down.
You got the diagnosis - now you know why it feels harder for you than anyone else, now it’s time to fix your self esteem and your self love.
You are so glorious - in all your messy creativity.
I see you.
Put down the guilt, the shame, the overthinking, the anxiety. It’s time to breathe.
