Did you first I F cycle fail? Firstly, I’m so sorry. I know, it’s heartbreaking and confusing. You might be wondering whether to try again and what you should be doing if you decide to.
Every couple’s journey looks different, so the below isn’t a checklist, just a few simple tips and things worth thinking about before you go again.
Reflect before you rush
It can be tempting to jump straight back in, but taking time to understand how the first cycle went, with your specialist, can help shape a better approach the second time round.
Ask if anything needs a closer look
Sometimes a bit more information can help. Your doctor might suggest some additional checks, but what’s useful varies a lot from person to person.
Stay open to a different approach
What worked (or didn’t) in round one doesn’t have to dictate round two. Your treatment plan can evolve as you learn more about what your body needs.
Look after yourself, not just the process
However you get there, feeling physically and emotionally steady going into the next cycle matters. That might mean rest, support, or simply being gentler with yourself.
Let yourself have the time you need
There’s no universal timeline for trying again. Give your body and your heart the space to be ready, whatever that looks like for you.
However your path unfolds, you’re allowed to move at your own pace.
Love, Dr Raewyn 🤍
