Screens are a part of life, but nothing
beats quality face time with your children.
Engaging with your child or teen can strengthen
your bond, boost their learning and development and support wellbeing.

Take a moment to disconnect from your screen and prioritize what really matters.
The best connection is right in front of you.

Small changes can make a big difference.

For more information please see tips from the screentime toolkit from
"Sydney Children’s Hospital Network Screen time toolkit"

💛 Thursday 10 September is R U OK? Day 💛
Meaningful conversations don't have to wait for one day of the year.

If someone has been on your mind,
trust your instinct and reach out.
A simple "R you OK?" can let someone
know they are seen, valued and supported.

Research shows that 9 in 10 people who
have been asked "R you OK?" say they felt
grateful, cared about and supported.
Yet 1 in 4 people hesitate to ask,
even when they think someone may be struggling.
A conversation doesn't have to be perfect
it just needs to be genuine.
Listen without judgement, be present and
let the person know you care.
💛 Ask R U OK? Any Day because a
conversation could change a life.

💗 Women's mental health matters. 💗
The latest female-specific mental health statistics highlight why it's so important to continue raising awareness, reducing stigma and ensuring women know where to find support.
Did you know?
• 1 in 2 Australian women are currently
facing a mental health issue.
• Only 3 in 10 women know exactly where
to go to seek help for their mental health.
• 1 in 3 women experiencing homelessness and
poverty while living with a mental health issue are also living with PTSD.
• More than 1 in 5 pregnant women
experience perinatal anxiety.
• 39% of Australian women are currently
experiencing body image concerns.
• 37% of women experiencing menopause or perimenopause are living with depression or
anxiety related to this stage of life.
• 50% of women say low self-esteem or
confidence has contributed to poor mental health.

These numbers remind us that mental health
challenges can affect women at every stage of
life but support is available, and no one has to face
them alone.

Wear bright lippy during September to raise
funds and awareness for the 1 in 2 Australian women experiencing mental health issues.

Take part in the annual ‘Liptember’ campaign - a fundraiser encouraging people to wear lipstick throughout the whole month of September as a fun way to raise awareness and funds for the 1 in 2 Australian women experiencing mental health issues.

Today we celebrate Australia's national
floral emblem - the beautiful golden wattle.
A symbol of resilience,
hope and unity, the wattle reminds us of the
strength
that grows through connection and community.

As the first signs of spring begin to appear,
take a
moment to enjoy the vibrant golden blooms,
spend time outdoors with your family, and
appreciate the beauty of nature around us.
Even a short walk or time in a local park
can support wellbeing for both children and adults.

Wishing everyone a bright and joyful National
Wattle Day! 🌼

Becoming a parent isn’t always easy. Its normal to not have all the answers and to ask for help.

Did you know we encourage “good enough parenting”? Its impossible to be perfect all the time.

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of safe sleep practices that help protect babies and reduce the risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), while supporting families affected by the loss of a baby or child.

Remember the safe sleep recommendations:
✔️ Always place your baby on their back to sleep
✔️ Keep your baby's head and face uncovered
✔️ Keep your baby smoke-free before and after birth
✔️ Provide a safe sleep environment with a firm, flat mattress and no soft bedding, pillows or toys
✔️ Sleep your baby in a safe cot next to your bed for the first 6–12 months
✔️ Breastfeed if possible, as this helps reduce the risk of SUDI

Every sleep counts, day and night. By following these simple, evidence-based recommendations, you can help give your baby the safest possible start in life ❤️
