Today is World Osteoporosis Day, a reminder that bone health deserves our attention long before we experience a problem. 🦴

Osteoporosis causes bones to become more fragile, increasing the risk of fractures. Yet bone health is something we can actively support throughout our lives.

At FitnessLab, we believe in building the foundations for a stronger, more capable body for the years ahead.

Menopause doesn’t mean your muscle is doomed. 💪

Your body can still build strength, adapt and respond to resistance training at every stage of menopause. The key is giving it the right stimulus and enough of it.

Want to understand what’s changing and what you can actually do about it? Join Certified Menopause and Nutrition Coach Kathryn Mayne at The Big M:

Why has your training stopped working the way it used to?

Perimenopause and menopause can affect sleep, energy, mood, weight, recovery and the way your body responds to exercise. The training approach that worked for you in the past may need to change as you do.

That’s why we’re hosting The Big M at FitnessLab Cammeray on our Open Day: Saturday 14th November, a practical, science-informed conversation about perimenopause, menopause and your changing body.

Led by Kathryn Mayne, the session is designed to help you better understand what’s happening hormonally and what you can do next.

Movement can be one part of caring for your mental wellbeing, whether that means strength training, walking, stretching, moving with others or simply getting yourself through the door.

But looking after yourself doesn’t always mean doing more. There’s no one right way to care for your mental health.

This World Mental Health Day, take care of the whole you.

Your bones don’t need you to train gently; they need the right stimulus.

The research points towards progressive strength training, enough impact and consistency alongside the basics like Calcium and Vitamin D.

If you’re concerned about your bone health, talk to your GP about whether a bone density scan is appropriate and make sure to talk to us about the best way to train for your body.
