Evidence-based. ✨ For every child. Grounded in faith, strength in weakness, hope in every step. Where Evidence-Based Practice Meets Educational Excellence. At Cornerstone Companions, we redefine Caninel-Assisted Support (CAS) through a holistic, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming lens. We don’t just "visit"—we facilitate measurable shifts in a student’s ability to engage, learn, and thrive. Our

Foundational Approach
Our practice is grounded in the empirical evidence of systematic reviews. We operate on the fundamental principle that for any child to learn, they must first be regulated. Our teams bridge the gap between clinical theory and classroom reality, providing the physiological and emotional scaffolding necessary for a neuro-affirming environment. We provide a holistic framework that integrates into Tier 1, 2, and 3 support structures:

Tier 1 (Universal): Enhancing classroom climate and providing co-regulation for the entire student body during high-stress periods. Tier 2 (Targeted): Small group interventions focusing on social-emotional skill building and task persistence. Tier 3 (Intensive): Individualized, trauma-informed support for students with complex sensory or emotional needs, including Level 4 ASD engagement. By stabilising the nervous system first, we unlock the potential for academic and social success across the entire school community. Expert Educational Support
We specialise in high-stakes educational environments, providing targeted interventions for:

Executive Functioning & Focus: Assisting students during NAPLAN and formal assessments to maintain a "ready-to-learn" state. Task Persistence: Using sensory redirection to help students overcome avoidance and move toward task completion. Neuro-Affirming Connection: Building bridges for students through non-verbal, non-judgmental partnership. Literacy Engagement: Boosting reading stamina and confidence through stabilised co-regulation. The Cornerstone Standard
The impact is driven by the synergy of the team. The Practitioners: Trained in trauma-informed care and neurodivergence, our handlers are skilled at reading subtle physiological cues to ensure every intervention is safe, ethical, and effective. The Canines: Our therapy dogs are trained to the highest international standards, possessing the specific skill sets required for intensive educational support. Our Commitment
We believe every learner deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated. By integrating elite therapy canines into the educational journey, we help students navigate their world with confidence and regulation. No Problem too Big, No Paw too Small.

Chill Zone is where students build the social skills they need well beyond the classroom — connecting, taking turns, joining in and having fun.

Mondays with Maisy
On a wet inside play day who brings the joy. Maisy !

Maisy got to join in with creating adventures out of class items, she went on the tour bus with year 2 girls.
Was snuggled inside a cubby.
Provided inspiration for spelling and took some time to watch a digital story.
Not a bad start to the week.

Maisy Moments 🐾

Sometimes the most powerful conversations don’t use words.

A gentle hand. A quiet cuddle. A wagging tail.

In those moments, children feel safe, connected and like they belong.

That’s the power of a Maisy Moment. 🤍

💯 100 Days of Learning! 🐾

Kya was all dressed up to celebrate the 100th Day of Learning at Oran Park Anglican College and she definitely understood the assignment! 💗

At Cornerstone Companions, days like today are about more than dressing up. They celebrate persistence, confidence and belonging. Every child reaches milestones differently, and taking time to recognise progress helps build a positive learning culture where every student feels seen and valued.

Happy 100 Days, OPAC! We loved being part of the celebrations.

THANK YOU

After lots of wagging tails, happy paws, and plenty of kilometres, (over 200), Cornerstone Companions canines are enjoying a well-earned rest.
Every step they took helped raise three weeks of accommodation for the campaign supporting children and families when they need it the most.
To our Cornerstone Community thanks for all your support.

Molly visited Exploring Tree Early Learning Macarthur today we were able to discuss similarities and differences between Molly and Coco with the Maple 2 children.
They were able to demonstrate their understanding of responsible behaviour around having pets in their learning spaces.
We felt very welcomed by the MacArthur Community.

💙 Walking with Purpose Exploring Tree Early Learning 🐾👢

The children took part in a meaningful conversation as they were introduced to our campaign.

Together, we explored what it might feel like if they, or someone they loved, needed to leave home to stay in hospital. The children thoughtfully shared the special belongings they would choose to take with them—revealing what brings them comfort, security and a sense of home.

Building on these conversations, the children pulled on their gumboots and set off on a scavenger hunt, searching for treasured items while reflecting on the reason behind their walk. With Remy by their side, encouraging curiosity, confidence and connection, the experience became one of empathy, collaboration and purposeful play.

Moments like these reflect the Early Years Learning Framework, nurturing children’s sense of identity, belonging and community, while encouraging them to care for others and recognise the impact of kindness.

Every little step helps make a big difference for families staying together when they need it most.
THANKYOU to the community of explorers at Cobbitty for your support. You’re generous donation provided one nights accommodation 💙🐾
