💡 DID YOU KNOW?

🤕 Falls are the leading cause of concussion in older adults.

Many people associate concussion with sport.
But for older adults, the most common cause is actually a fall.

As we age, changes in balance, vision and muscle strength can increase the risk of falling.

After any bump to the head, don't ignore symptoms like:
🤕 Headache
😵‍💫 Dizziness
😩 Confusion
🫨 Balance problems
🤔 Memory changes

Early assessment can be an important part of recovery.

💪🏼“Strength isn’t pretending you’re fine...
It’s having the courage to listen to your body and give yourself the care you deserve.”

🧠 A concussion can affect older adults in ways that aren’t always immediately obvious.

👉🏼 Recognising symptoms, allowing the brain to rest, and seeking appropriate medical care can make a meaningful difference.

👵🏻 👴🏻 For older adults, awareness matters. If something doesn’t feel right after a head injury, speak up and seek medical advice.
