After nearly two decades in the disability sector, one thing I’ve learned is that significant reform rarely arrives with all the answers.

It creates questions before there is certainty, challenges the way we have always done things, and reminds us just how important it is to stay connected to the people around us.

Support Coordination is entering one of those periods.

At Wellspace Australia, we are looking ahead carefully. We are strengthening what we do, preparing for what comes next, and remaining firmly focused on quality, independence and participant choice.

But I don’t believe the best response to change is to retreat into our own organisations and plan in isolation.

That is why I’m posting this personally.

There is an incredible amount of experience, knowledge and thinking across our sector within practitioners, contractors, providers and organisations of every size.

I would like to create more space for those conversations.
To share perspectives.
To listen.
To challenge our thinking.
To explore ideas and possibilities.
And, where it makes sense, to consider what might come next.

There is no predetermined outcome and no assumption about what the future should look like for anyone.

Some conversations may lead somewhere. Others may simply leave both of us with a new idea, a different perspective or a valuable connection.
Either way, I think they are worth having.
