We love discovering resources that make learning and development more accessible for little hands 💛

A huge thank you to for sharing their thoughtfully designed products with us ☀️

🖍️ Their markers are specifically designed to support children who experience challenges with pencil grasp, featuring a smaller barrel size for easier control and comfort while drawing and writing.

We also explored their handwriting book, which includes textured pages and raised lines to provide tactile and proprioceptive feedback, helping children better understand line placement and letter positioning ✍️

And we can’t forget the gorgeous pencil case, complete with an extra chunky zip and handle designed perfectly for little hands!

We’re so grateful to add these supportive tools into our sessions and highly recommend checking out Sunny Markers for families, educators, and therapists looking to support fine motor and handwriting development 🌈

✨ Screening for the STNR Reflex ✨

The Symmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex (STNR) is a primitive reflex that typically develops during infancy and integrates as a child grows. When retained, it may be associated with challenges such as posture difficulties, poor coordination, fidgeting, trouble sitting still, or difficulties with reading and concentration.

In this reel, we’re demonstrating a simple screening observation that may indicate the presence of a retained STNR Reflex.

⚠️ Disclaimer: This screening is not a diagnosis. The signs shown in this reel may be related to a retained STNR Reflex or other developmental factors. If you feel your child may be presenting with these signs, please seek medical advice or a professional assessment from a qualified healthcare practitioner.

💛 Early support and understanding can play an important role in a child’s development and learning.

✨ Screening for the Spinal Galant Reflex ✨

The Spinal Galant Reflex is a primitive reflex that develops in infancy and usually integrates as a child grows. When retained, it may be associated with challenges such as fidgeting, posture difficulties, bedwetting, concentration concerns, or sensitivity around the waistline.

In this reel, we’re demonstrating a simple screening observation that may indicate the presence of a retained Spinal Galant Reflex.

⚠️ Disclaimer: This screening is not a diagnosis. Signs shown in this reel may be related to a retained Spinal Galant Reflex or other developmental factors. If you feel your child may present with these signs, please seek medical advice or professional assessment from a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Most parents think it’s “just picky eating”…

But there’s a moment where I start to get concerned 👇
When a child:
• Eats fewer than ~10–15 foods consistently
• Starts dropping foods they used to eat
• Gags or panics when new foods are introduced
• Completely avoids whole food groups

That’s not typical fussiness anymore.
That’s usually a sign their relationship with food is becoming restricted, stressful, or sensory-driven.

And the earlier we support it, the easier it is to shift.
If you’ve had that gut feeling of “something’s not quite right” — trust it.

You don’t need to wait for things to get worse to get support.
🛟 Save this if you want a checklist to come back to.
💌 Send it to your partner if you’ve been trying to explain this!

Most parents aren’t struggling with bedtime routines…
They’re struggling with what happens after 👇
The wake-ups.
The second guessing.
The “should I go in or wait?”

And that’s the part that actually shapes sleep.

Because every response teaches your child something:
👉 “I can settle”
👉 “I need help”
👉 “I’m not sure what to expect”
A good routine sets the foundation but consistent, confident responses are what reduce night waking over time.
That’s why your environment matters more than people realise.
Not just for your baby…
But for you.

Being able to:
• Check in without rushing in
• Read what your baby actually needs
• Give space when it’s appropriate
→ changes how you respond completely
And when your responses are calmer and more consistent,
your baby feels that too.

This isn’t about leaving your baby to cry.
And it’s not about responding instantly every time.
It’s about knowing what to do, and when

That’s what creates better sleep for everyone.

Ever noticed how your baby’s posture changes with head movement? 👶✨

The Tonic Labyrinthine Reflex (TLR) is one of the key primitive reflexes that helps lay the foundation for posture, balance, and muscle tone in early life.

This reflex should gradually integrate as your baby grows—but when it’s retained, it can impact coordination, posture, balance, and even focus as children get older.

In this reel, we break down what TLR looks like, why it matters, and signs it may not have fully integrated.
Part of our Primitive Reflex Series—follow along as we continue exploring how these early reflexes shape development 💛
