Where Are You? The Mental Health Advocates Who Show Up Online But Disappear When It Matters
To every influencer and public figure who posts daily about mental health, who calls themselves an advocate, who speaks up about men’s pain and su***de prevention — I’ve reached out. I’ve sent messages, shared what we’re building, asked for nothing more than a moment of your time to help get real support to the people who need it most. And not one of you has replied.
It’s easy to post a quote, share a graphic, collect the likes and the praise. It’s much harder to actually show up. We’re right here on the ground in Western Sydney — answering calls at 2 AM, building free tools and programs, sitting with people until they’re safe, and doing it all with nothing but heart and hard work. No big budget, no marketing team — just real people doing real work.
If this post pi**es you off — good. Let that anger turn into action. Reach out. Ask questions. See what we’re actually doing. Put your platform behind something that’s saving lives, not just something that gets attention.
The Resilience Hub is free, independent, and built on lived experience. We don’t do it for fame — we do it because people are dying while the world talks.
