Sydney University Boat Club SUBC

Founded in 1860, SUBC is among oldest sporting clubs in Australia. SUBC also has a strong as well as a long history.

It is known by many (throughout Australia, and the world) as The Home of Rowing. It has been the beginning of many great rowing careers at university, State, national and international level. Current club members compete at all levels of rowing from Olympic, World Championships, state and club events.

A strong finish for Patti Boland & Summer Phillips in the Women’s Quadruple Sculls at the World U19 Championships in Bulgaria.

We’re incredibly proud of the girls and the way they represented SUBC on the international stage. An invaluable experience racing at a World Championships, and one they’ll carry with them as they continue to develop and take on what’s next.

Rowsellas ready for Amsterdam!

Rowing Australia has confirmed The Australian Rowing Team set to compete at the 2026 World Rowing Championships from 24-30 August.

With a mix of youth and experience, the Rowsellas are primed for their chance to compete on the world stage, an opportunity made possible through the support of Hancock Prospecting and RA Patron Mrs Gina Rinehart AO, the Australian Institute of Sport, the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Government.

Congratulations to our seven SUBC athletes selected to the Australian team for the 2026 World Championships, to be held on the Bosbaan International Regatta Course in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 24–30 August.

A huge congratulations to our SUBC athletes representing Australia at the World Rowing U23 Championships! 🇦🇺

🥇 Imogen Grey stormed to a dominant victory in the Women's Pair, claiming the U23 World Championship title with an outstanding performance from start to finish.

👏 Edward Nutt delivered a courageous race in the Men's Eight, finishing 4th after a hard-fought battle all the way to the line.

We're incredibly proud to see SUBC athletes competing with the best in the world. Congratulations, Imogen and Edward!

SUBC🤝 HRR

SUBC was proudly represented across all levels at this year's Henley Royal Regatta, from athletes experiencing the event for the first time in novice crews to rowers competing in finals for some of the world's most prestigious clubs. The regatta once again showcased the depth of talent within our club and provided invaluable international racing experience for athletes at every stage of their rowing journey.
