This is more than a relaxation breathing exercise. It’s an active, guided practice that can help you move out of your head, reconnect with your body and release built-up tension.

A difficult moment at work is not a verdict on your capability. You do not need to control yourself better, you need a sense of self trust that remains intact when you are challenged.

Warmly,

A little permission for the people who are good at holding everything together.

You’re allowed to want more than coping, performing and pretending you’re okay.

Have you noticed how just knowing something is good for us doesn’t necessarily make it easy to do consistently?

We can genuinely love a practice. Know how good we feel afterwards. Want to make it part of our daily life.

And still resist doing it.

I was exploring exactly this with a client recently in a session focused on procrastination and resistance.

What was interesting was that the practice she was struggling to do wasn’t something new or unfamiliar. She had been doing it for years. She knew it deeply. She loved what it gave her.

And yet, something was still getting in the way of showing up for it consistently.

She came in believing it was a discipline problem. But as we looked deeper, it became clear that there was more underneath the resistance.

When we approach resistance with curiosity rather than judgement, we can begin to understand what’s actually driving it.

Sometimes a part of us is protecting something. Avoiding something. Or holding onto a pattern that makes perfect sense once we understand where it comes from.

And that’s often where I find the more interesting work begins.

Not simply asking, “How do I make myself do this?”

But asking, “What is actually making this so difficult for me?”

I’ve been noticing this in my own life too as I build a new body flow practice into my mornings.

Noticing the resistance when it appears, becoming curious about it, and continuing to strengthen the persistence to show up anyway.

Because sometimes the thing standing between knowing what we want and actually living it isn’t a lack of motivation.

It’s a pattern we haven’t understood yet.

You can be genuinely capable, experienced, and good at your job and still find yourself second-guessing every decision after a promotion or a big step up.

If that sounds familiar, you're not lacking ability. It's usually something else entirely: perfectionism, comparison, or an overthinking loop that gets louder the more visible you become.
I just published a new article breaking down why this happens and how to build real self-trust (not just the appearance of confidence). Link in comments 👇

Ever known exactly what you wanted to say in a meeting, and then completely blanked the second it was your turn to speak?

I've been there myself, early in my career, and I see it constantly with clients now. It's not a confidence problem. It's your nervous system reading the moment as risk.

New blog post on why this happens and what actually helps you speak up clearly, even under pressure. 👇
