Campbelltown Hospital provides networked public healthcare services with Camden Hospital for the local community of the Macarthur region including Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly. The services provided at Campbelltown and Camden Hospital include intensive care, cardiology, maternity, gynaecology, oncology, palliative care, respiratory and stroke, medicine, surgery, emergency medicine and aged

care services. Campbelltown and Camden Hospital is part of South Western Sydney Local Health District who is responsible for all public healthcare facilities from Bankstown to Bowral.

From Campbelltown Hospital to the international stage 🌏👑

Registered nurse Priscilla has spent the past year balancing her role in our Outpatients Department with representing her community as Miss Samoa NSW, where she went on to place second runner-up internationally.

Through her advocacy for preventative health and chronic disease management, Priscilla has helped improve access to health information and free health checks for Pasifika communities across western Sydney.

While her time as Miss Samoa NSW has come to an end, her passion for community service continues.

“As I reflect on the last 12 months, I feel quite humbled that I was able to add onto the legacy of Miss Samoa NSW. Although I’ve handed over the title, my service to my nation and our people will not end. I will continue to advocate for change for the future generations to come.”

Thank you, Priscilla, for leading through service and making a positive impact both at work and in the community. 💙

Congratulations to Rebekah Williams Outpatients Administrative Officer, Campbelltown Hospital for receiving an Emblem of Kindness! The Emblem of Kindness is a special staff recognition program to celebrate the small acts of kindness happening across the NSW Health system every day.
Rebekah consistently demonstrates kindness through her compassionate and patient approach to both patients and colleagues. She takes the time to ensure patients feel heard and supported, as shown when she assisted a patient who had lost access to transport by coordinating alternative arrangements to maintain continuity of care. She also extends this support to colleagues, particularly new staff, by providing guidance, sharing knowledge and offering hands-on assistance during busy periods. Her approachable and collaborative manner has strengthened confidence among new team members and contributed to a supportive and positive team environment.

Congratulations to Jesse Mundine from our Security and Patient Services for receiving an Emblem of Kindness! The Emblem of Kindness is a special staff recognition program to celebrate the small acts of kindness happening across the NSW Health system every day.

Jesse demonstrated a thoughtful act of kindness by assisting a young patient in visible discomfort following day surgery, arranging a wheelchair and providing gentle, compassionate support to ensure she could leave the hospital safely. His caring approach eased the child’s distress and provided reassurance to her parent, reinforcing trust. This simple but meaningful gesture ensured the family felt supported and valued, leaving a positive and lasting impression during an otherwise difficult experience.

Sadly one in five men in NSW will get prostate cancer by age 85, but having the right information can help.

Many prostate cancers do not cause symptoms in the early stages, but there are some symptoms to look out for:

- Problems passing urine
- Having to pass urine more often
- Not being able to wait to go to the bathroom
- Pain or burning when passing urine
- Blood in the urine or semen
- Pain in the lower back or hips
- Tiredness, shortness of breath, weight loss or dizziness

Speak with a GP about any symptoms or concerns.
