Storms come and go. So do difficult seasons.
Just as the sea settles after rough weather, our wellbeing is strengthened by the small, everyday habits that help us stay grounded.

Return to SEEDS:
πŸ’œ Sleep: Aim for consistent, restorative sleep.
πŸ₯— Eat: Nourish your body with regular, balanced meals.
🚢 Exercise: Move your body in ways that feel enjoyable and sustainable.
🌿 Downtime: Create space to rest, recharge and simply be.
πŸ‘₯ Socialise: Stay connected with the people who matter to you.

When life feels stormy, you don't need to be perfect. Returning to your SEEDS can help you weather difficult times and build resilience, one small step at a time.

What is one SEEDS habit you'll prioritise this week?

Exercise is one of the many ways we can support our mental wellbeing. Regular physical activity has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, increase energy, enhance sleep and support emotional wellbeing.
Exercise does not need to be intense or time consuming. A walk, a swim, gardening, dancing, stretching or playing sport can all have positive effects on both body and mind. Research also supports improved wellbeing and reduced distress for clients who engaged in exercise in addition to therapy vs those who did not.
At Purple Rain Psychology, we take a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognising that our mental health is influenced by our physical health, relationships, environment and daily habits.
As the world cup continues lets get inspired and add in some extra exercise while watching the games in Australia whether that's on a treadmill or exercise bike, watever works.
Finding movement that you enjoy and can incorporate into your routine can be a meaningful step towards improving overall wellbeing. πŸ’œ

Obesity is more than willpower

Our body is shaped by biology, emotions, stress, and more. It is not just higher calorie food choices. Research from UTS shows how our brains can become wired to crave high-fat and high-sugar foods even when we no longer enjoy them or are no longer hungry.

At Purple Rain Psychology, we help clients understand these patterns with compassion, not shame. πŸ’œ

Purple Rain Time of Year
I could watch the beautiful jacaranda tree blossoms for hours this time if year. Looking at the beautiful vibrant blossoms as they flow gently through the wind, like rain. This is magical and fantastical, whimsical and free.
I hope you enjoy this mindful experience and remember to stop and notice this beautiful artwork in nature.

✨ Grief, Connection and Renewal in Cozumel ✨

I recently travelled to Cozumel, Mexico for a deeply moving Torah scroll dedication in memory of loved ones who had passed. Surrounded by more than fifty members of my Hasidic family, I felt grief and joy intertwine, the ache of absence and the beauty of legacy held in the same breath.
As the Torah was carried through the streets with music, dancing and song, I was reminded that rituals can hold the full spectrum of emotion including love, loss, gratitude and hope. They help us weave grief into life, rather than trying to leave it behind.
Across the world, cultures express this truth differently, through prayer, dance, song and story, but the purpose is shared, to honour, to connect and to begin again. πŸ’œ
